A CROSS-CULTURAL couple who tied the knot after just two months of meeting share their experiences of overcoming judgement and prejudice. Kelly Keyser, 34, and Harjot Arora, 31, met on the dating app ‘Plenty of Fish’, when he wowed her with his best pick-up line. But their love story was not met with enthusiasm from family members from both sides, with some of their closest relatives refusing to attend the wedding.

This is wholesome and sweet. I know the cultural barriers that they are working to overcome. Having previously fallen in love with an Indian guy years ago, I get the tradition and culture. Much love to them both for working towards having a family together.
She really found a keeper. Not only is he drop-dead gorgeous, he's so sweet and protective of her. I'm happy for them. It's hard to make an intercultural marriage work but they seem to have a wonderful relationship.

My Ecuadorian mom married my American dad 10 weeks after they met. Dads family was pretty judge mental about the whole deal saying they’d be divorced within the year and she just wanted her green card. They are still happily married after 52 years:)

I love this story. I know how hard interracial relationships can be. I am Italian German and my man is Chinese. After 5 years into the relationship I wanted to take a chance and wanted to have a work and travel year in GB. I came back after a few months because we missed each other too much. Just to find her being angry, yelling at him and trying to make him chat with a girl from his hometown (in front of me as well haha, well she hoped its over). She was always nice to me before but I knew she didn't take our relationship seriously. Nobody really did, except my parents. Now another 6 years later, she is finally font of me. She realised I don't want him to change and that Italian family/ cultural values are not too different from Chinese values. But we all live in Germany and Germans are weird and treat their closest relatives like strangers so I understand a bit where she is coming from. She might have feared I want to turn him into a German cold hearted weirdo, what I have never been myself lol.
So, it takes time, love and patience. When his dad will realise how serious they both are and how much love she has for everything that belongs to her husband like culture, country and family, the dads heart will get softer, sooner or later. :)
