    Thanks for sharing all of this information, I have been eagerly awaiting for your to finish your university project. I hope this launches your career with all the hard work you have done on it. I just wanted to make a turret to shoo off bovines from our annual campground, while we slept or were away fishing. They'll never expect a fully automated turret!! Can't wait to purchase plans, etc of what you make available. Really enjoyed your video, congratulations.

      I have plans for a very beautiful 3D printed version. I hope I can get to designing it in my free time. There's a lot of advancements in vision tech and motor drivers that can be used.

      Would you ever share or atleast sell the code and the 3d files for the turrett?
      I'm really interested.

    This is a nice, inexpensive, less lethal way of providing security.
    Why fire lead bullets when things like paintballs, rubber bullets, nylon balls, and bean bags can often effectively drive off or even take down people and/or animals without (normally) seriously injuring them, let alone killing them.

    This is the best turret I've ever seen on CZcams made by an enthusiast, the perfect device and code.
    Do you plan to share this project in the future? especially the code ;-)
    Magnificent work

      thanks Aleks! I think I'll make a plan to release the code. I just need to find it on my old PC!

      @@ThoughtinFlight This is amazing, I say this alot, but this one, I will actually do.
      I don't have the engineering skills, I would just botch it together, this goes so much in deep in subjects I wouldn't dreamed off.
      Hope you can find the plans. Thank you

    Hi Dale. Is jy in CPT?

      Hi Lukas, jammer ek sien die nou eers!! het jy toe regekom? Ek sal eintlk n Pi aanbeveel net sodat jy dit oor die internet kan beheer. (En ook baie meer impressive control kan doen)

      Hi Raftcraft, I will put them on but I think there have been some amazing developments in printed gearbox tech by other youtubers that would make a lof of this stuff defunct. I hope to get a little time to re-design the turret since I now have a 3D printer

    estimate distance is also possible with one camera. Why you chose double camera ?

    • @ThoughtinFlight
      @ThoughtinFlight  Před 2 lety +1

      If you think about it, getting distance from one camera is mathematically impossible unless you know the exact cross sectional area of the target, and that area doesn't change ever (I.E a sphere). To get 3 co-ordinates in 3 dimensional space, you need 3 equations to relate, or two equations and one fixed variable. In this case the fixed variable is the distance between the cameras, and the equations are the projections from 2D to 3D space (in actual fact its 6 variables including all the rotation angles! but we ignore them because they are also all fixed). If you want an in depth understanding of this math field, look up Homogeneous coordinates and projection geometry in Euclidian space :).
