It was mostly bad with a few good scenes. I thought it was better than seasons 4-5.
Dude. I agree with a lot of what you say but your speech patterns make it tough to listen. People who say “didn’t” as “did-dint” make me cringe.

My BIGGEST gripe was the reunions. They felt so unnatural and weird, not down to the actors though, the writing. This isn't how people talk.. and im sorry, if I haven't seen my daughter in YEARS and believed she was dead but found her after YEARS id be an emotional wreck.. but no, casual conversations like it's an average weekly meet up
AND THE WALKERS DIDN'T EVEN LOOK LIKE WALKERS!! THE WHISPERERS WEREN'T ZOMBIES AND THEY STILL LOOKED MILES BETTER LIKE HUH???

FTWD had potential until Andrew C and Ian G took the helm of the ship, and with this horrible season it is not doing the other spinoffs a great favor, I must confess that Im nervous and worried about the Rick spinoff, I hope it is conclusive and not with a stupid cliffhanger and wait another 3 or 5 years
Bringing a presumably dead Charlie back just to have her sacrifice herself... WTF?
I loved the first 3 seasons, and season 3 completely cemented that it was Madison's show, and about how her dark past as a child killing her own dad, would connect to her being capable of anything to keep Nick and Alicia alive. Then the new show runners arrived, absolutely flipped the show to be about Morgan and killed Madison off. Then at the end, Alicia leaves, so they realise, damn, we need something sort of to conclude on...and Lennie wants out.
The only way they could try and pretend it was a coherent story was by getting Madison back and then they realised she had no connection with anyone minus Strand, who was at a total different point in his life since he knew her 5 seasons ago. So they roped Troy back thinking it would connect to season 3. But it didn't.
I wanted Madison back, always loved her, but I knew they would mess it up and it would not save the show. They treated Kim Dickins like dirt and I know she only returned for the fans. I can't believe Madison was killed in season 4 and Luciana made it to the end. Season 3 was amazing, and both Strand and Luciana were mostly absent from it. Clearly the Clarks were to go down a dark path with Madison as the apocalypse progressed with both her own children even having concerns for how far Madison would go for them. What we got with this ending was about all they could really do.
Can't argue with anything you said. Season 3 was CLEARLY the pinnacle of the series. Then they followed it up with..... The Vultures.
The worst part is Mo was actually supposed to be 8 but her actress is a teenager😭😭
Plus who thought it would be a good idea to, in the time jump, have Madison locked up for SEVEN YEARS or Dwight and Sherry not raise their kid?? There was so much more you couldve done in a timejump, instead of essentially cryofreeze your characters…
This show was a literal chore to get through post-season 3. Very sad that they never let the show get good again and recover before killing it. They had 4 seasons in which to fire Ian and Andrew and try and fix it but it was literally way too far gone by the ending. The real Fear ended many years ago. Whatever this variation was finally ended without ever getting good. I have never in the history of television seen a show that was so good get so destroyed. Season 3 was legitimately some peak television from every standpoint, the acting and writing to the filmmaking and gorgeous cinematography. How that show then became quite literally the worst tv series ever made is insane. It went from great to the worst. Can't think of anything else that had SUCH a plummet. Insane what AMC did to this show. I will forever mourn the Fear that we could have had. We will never know what really was going to happen to those characters and what stories we would have had. So upsetting.
If you think this was bad, just read the recent interviews with the showrunners saying they planned a cat (Skidmark) and dog centered episode with a voice dubbed over them.

Shrikes father killing her was so stupid ☠️ like how was her father not fully decomposed to dust, this show is so unrealistic and cringey in Season 7 - Season 8.
Alicia really did just step onto the set, hair has had the shampoo treatment.
I really think Padre was a McGuffin, pure and simple. They wrote it in many seasons back as something to search for, not knowing what it was really going to. They kept string it out until Season 8 when they had NO choice but to come up with what it was. This just shows a lack of imagination, and just poor writing. While I hate to see people lose their jobs, here's hoping the writers and actors strike cleans house and hires capable writers from here on out. We know they exist out there with many other movies and TV shows that have released in the past year or so. But what they had for this show, it wasn't there.
They definitely took the cue from D&D on the final season of GoT with all the teleporting characters did. Just awful. I think I got whiplash from all the swings the story took, and the teleporting the characters did. Laughably bad.

Worst last season of any show I’ve ever seen in my life. Almost every aspect of the plot was completely absurd, the characters lost any semblance of charm. The dialogue was ridiculous to the point of humor. These show writers and directors should be banned from Hollywood

the teleportation between regions. my wife was so confused when Morgan showed up in King's County
the inconsistency of people's motivations. people flip sides within the same scene
Padre's logic was, well, illogical. Their plan is to take people away from their parents so they can't experience the loss of a parent? What's their long-term plan? Are they never going to have children? If so, are they going to continue separating children from their parents internally? Because that's the circle of life, parents SHOULD die before their parents
and all the monologues, jesus, this show should have been re-named Fear the Monologue
Alicia should have died at the end of Season 7. Madison should have remained dead. Troy should have remained dead.
The entire season felt fucking lazy, it felt forced, it felt like they put in zero effort to make a coherent story
The teleportation's as you call them are terrible. I said the same about TWD during the last several seasons. By the end you would think Alexandria was a 3 mile stroll down a country road from the commonwealth.
Besides all the obvious reasons season 8 was nonsensical, messy, and worst of the franchise I had a big question about Padre. Where were all the people who lived there before they took it from Shrek and Crane? In the finale there was the core cast and a few other people left? Where are all the adults that were at Padre and all the children they've been taking for 10 years? This is just one of many things that don't make sense LOL
If Erickson stayed as the shorunner he would make FTWD really good, even with Nick death and Morgan coming. He had a way of making characters deaths necessary for the plot and that's why I love the first three seasons of this show.
The biggest travesty this season gave us was hope. After Morgan left, I was like “omg, is this it?, have they finally seen beyond the turd they have created and try and salvage something?”
And then Madison Clark went full Trump with Padre/mAdRe.
I would really love to see your analysis/thoughts about OG Fear S1-S3. Like just make a video about each season seeing the cons and pros of each. Remember the good ol’ days and forget whatever this fever dream was.
And then wtf is their fetish in making Fear feel like a western texan show with their shitty country theme? Like everything was ok at the very last scene with Madison and Alicia, and then this shitty country song came up, like wtf. Where’s my somber Ki:Theory Stand By Me remix?
Yes, that country theme they kept going for, probably influenced by The Last of Us, was bad. The show is called FEAR - and the original title screen with the acidic title font and harrowing howling noises totally summarised that. Then we reach season 4 and the title screen is some jangly light hearted western theme. Absolutely not conveying any sense of fear at all.

This show lacked direction Had this been a villain origin story such as The Whispers it would have been epic but jumped the shark when it went Morgan and Friends just to only see it return to the OG cast last season teleporting everywhere mix in the most annoying kids who shoot adults (Dory, Nick , Madison) who have dealt w much bigger threats & it just feels like awful writing
100% fair and valid criticism. I'm in a weird place because I really wanted this show to succeed and I'm the same as you in regards to feeling sentimental about the show because you've watched it for years. Objectively, it's a horrible season but I tried to enjoy it for what it was. This could have been a great TV series 😢

It’s forcibly woke! The progressive writing took hold of the show and basically pushed it off track. What’s wrong with it? Numerous character flaws, plot flaws, character, seemingly dying off screen, and only subtly mentioned, scenes that really aren’t needed and utilized to basically convey a cryptic message about life and to eat up time. I can’t even tell you how many times Madison steps up on a soapbox in both of the finale episodes! It’s either her almost dying, and then getting saved, then hopping up on our soapbox telling people how they should live, etc. and how Alicia would want it! But wait? How the fuck and all fucks does Madison even know how Alicia lived her life? I understand that’s her daughter, but all for nothing. She hasn’t seen her in almost half a decade? In addition, how about the Alesha fan club? Alicia was kind of creeped out how many people looked up at her? She was kind of like “I don’t know why I’m so fucking special“ which was kind of a dull ending. Major character flaws. It was as if they just got lazy.

The more I think about it, I think I do agree with you that Season 8 was the worst. For a long time I regarded the second half of Season 4 being the worst of the series, but I think my perception of it being so bad was because we were used to the show actually being good, at that time. The difference was very noticeable.
Tbh i thought it was a little better than season 7, even tho i liked the setting of season 7 with the fallout. Also i feel like the worst season of ftwd for me is season 5, that was Just complete shit 😂 Just my opinion

1st half of season 8 wasn't as bad of the other half. But the only part that was good was Morgan's story and Grace dying.

Gimple almost ruin Walking, so they got rid of him , promoted him, then gave him fear? D&D now G&C. Fear had really good character but the writing was off since the second season. My favorite character was Travis 🤷🏾♀️so I’ve been upset since then. I actually did enjoy the first season with Morgan and the new characters then it was down hill fast.
i think where fear fails in is that the writers come up with something that happens or an actor that wants to leave, so they go write a story around that premise. but if you do that you get plotholes by things you did not think about at first. and then it just gets answered by ah they just teleported. you need to write a simple story, and then ADD more complex things in the story LATER when it is possible and when it makes sense, this was just getting troy back to keep us on the edges of our seat to see if alicia is alive. but it made 0 sense whatsoever. i will never forget what they did to strand and alicia in season 7. they did them dirty af. the ending was satisfying cuz it is open ended if we will ever see one of our favourites again, without the butchering writing that happens within fear the walking dead. Crane died the same way Shrike did and it was hilarious :) just standing there with their thumbs up their asses getting devoured by walkers lmao :P
How many times did character say ‘it doesn’t matter’, when another character asked them ‘why?’ Through the whole show?
Omg its so bad .. the magic walky talkys and the ridiculous conversation.. and the days of our lives in the apocalypse dramatism.. its all patently ridiculous. Literally dont know what the point is , dont care.. whats PADRE now? Its so bad.. what have they been smoking? Is it deliberate? It loiks like its sort of a big joke. I dont understand.
I'll take a different stance. It used to be in another lifetime a show had to have a good season and then wait to get renewed. Now 2023 a show is renewed before the first episode of the current season. Trophies for everyone. There is no need to try and excel it's already renewed. THEN you jump to season 8. The final season "no matter what". Ian and Andrew knew they wanted to bring Madison and Alicia together but no clue how to get them together and it really didn't matter what the filled it up with so we get an entire season of mush and glop just to get to the last 5 minutes because probably if truth be told 5 minutes is all ADC could stand of Kim Dickens. I fear for the Rick and Michonne series with Gimple at the helm. He's the one that needs to go.
I wish the show got cancelled after season 3.

THIS WD show specifically suffered from SPEECH talk. EVERY conversation was their story telling, cause they couldn't do it ANY other way. But I couldn't look away.

I'm sorry, but the only channel where the fans were positive about this shitshow of a series was Trevschan. I couldn't believe what i was reading in the comments section. The amount of positivity for this last season and final episode was laughable.
As a German, I have to say that I didn't even understand everything that was supposedly in German. After the first episode, it took me ages to be able to continue watching. It was a disaster. The last season was pure cringe. And then not even using German actors? What kindergarten chose all these actors and wrote the scripts?! Argh, it was awful. I found the runion with Alicia absolutely unsatisfying. I really loved this show, but it absolutely should have ended after season 3... for the greater good and my blood pressure. Thanks for all the FTWD videos though, at least I'm not alone with my opinion :D
This show hasn't been good since season 3 and not only has it been bad, it's been one of the worst shows on tv bad. The fact that this show made it 8 seasons tells me that a ton of us loved to hate watch this show.

I haven’t watched this season cause I just haven’t been bothered since S4 started. I held out just to laugh at it, but S7 was just so, so, so fucking terrible I can’t even watch this one to even laugh at it if it’s even worse than 7, like how is that possible?
From s 6 i was just hoping for death for all characters.. dont know why i continued as it got worse by every episode

I think bad acting comes from bad writing. No matter how talented they are, any actor would be confused af while performing in the story like this.

It was not the best season but it was not the worst people are just hating Fear without reason while hold Dead City and Daryl Dixon in a pedestal,it was a good season certainly better than 5 and 7 mainly the final episodes and maybe the three last ones of Morgan
Fear went off the rails when they went with the Western theme. Most of those seasons were silly and stupid. When Madison returned I was hopeful but the writing was awful.

I was also really disappointed with this season. I actually kind of like the previous seasons but this one finally made me realize how lame it is. I think most of the issues is due to budget issues (time jumps over important events) and bad writing

this is hands down the worst season with absolutely lame arch Padre mainly in the first half of the season was so crap .. it was just some sister and brother both lame and some kids.. or death of Morgans partner jesus or when Morgan went to put down his walker son it was so random iut of context this season is worse than season 4 by a lot and on top of that second part of the season wasnt good either .. all this about bringing Troy back just for some nonsese like that.. on top of that bad writing ... messed up episodes it made no sense... twisting decisions right and left Madison omg... I dont want to even rate it ever.. at least what could they do for us is to bring some of these characters into spin offs I mean original fear character not jus these who crossed over from og show... overal I cant even rewatch this series any more.. its that and conclusion is cheap because season 8 was nothing sort of other than disaster 😵💫
So for me, season 8 had problems. One hundred percent. Certain storyline and episodes were awful. But overall, as a whole, I still like it better than seasons 4 and 5. As convoluted as it was, I did like how they wrapped up Dwight's story. Seeing the sanctuary again was genuinely cool. Morgan's final episode I thought was really good. Along with the episode where he finally killed Dwayne. I feel they wrapped up his story very well. The Padre stuff, while not great, I saw what they were going for. The basically my overall thoughts of season 8. It wasnt great, but I saw what they were going for. At least it wasnt boring like season 5. I also just didnt enjoy season 4 as much

They were impatient and rushed the show. Nobody wanted a cross over, but they had to rush it. They should have stayed at the High school for one more season. The Mexican village was useless in season 2 and making Strand gay was for what? And why do everyone stay within 1 mile of everyone? Nobody wants to be alone?
