Out of all the Indiana Jones movies, this one was a special place in my childhood heart.

The same year that released Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and James Bond 007: License to Kill.
The story is this: Spielberg expressed to George Lucas his interest in directing a James Bond movie. Instead, Lucas told him that he had a better idea and told him about the archaeologist Jones. Spielberg was fascinated by the concept, calling it "a James Bond movie but without its spying devices"

@@omardiaz3557 The original name George Lucas proposed was "Indiana Smith". But Steven Spielberg had them change the name to something that fit better. Thus, the forever-going-to-be-known name was created.

Steven Spielberg is the greatest director in "the entire history of cinema"...
It's unimaginable that someone who has made powerful films such as Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan, The Color Purple (among others) has also directed exhilarating flicks such as Jurrasic Park, Jaws and the Indiana Jones tetralogy.

I love Harrison Ford as Indy, but Sean Connery's Jones Sr. steals every scene in the movie.
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) is the best action-adventure movie of 1989 from Paramount Pictures and Lucasfilm Ltd.

Best updated trailer to one of the best films in the "Indi" Trilogy.

Like all Indiana Jones Movie, this was perfection. With Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, being the best, this can be easily said as the second best, and close to its first.
Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade is 35 years old!
I remember my late dad had it on vhs tape recorded
The film works tremendously thanks to the perfect chemistry of Ford and Connery; their wit full banter is so much fun seeing them bounce off back and forth
Considering Indy didn't have a perfect upbringing and his father was more obsessed with artifacts and his studies than his own son would create a rift
There's a few touching scenes highlighting that Indy deep down has a big respect for this man who's let him down time and time again
The score still works by John Williams, there's plenty of fun action set pieces from a plane shootout to a tank chase in the desert to a pursuit by Nazis via motorcycle, some impressive special effects with the Holy Grail itself, and there's many lighthearted moments
The writers cleverly insert a lot of the Arthur legend with Christian mythology
There's also a great theme of fathers and sons, the true treasure is the love and acceptance we seek from our parents, teaching our kids self reliance is either beneficial or harmful, taking a leap of faith is all it takes, there's a price for immortality choosing wisely or poorly, seeking illumination is more valuable than treasure
Sadly River Phoenix as young Indy passed away at a young age and many fans and critics would've preferred this to be the final film
But two sequels did follow allowing the legacy of this character to live on for newcomers
'Last Crusade' has a very accessible plot and developed the main character's backstory even more making the emotional crux of the film work while also capturing the classic B-movie thrills of those old serial adventures
It's right up there with 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' recapturing the same magic that made these films so special
I can't believe this has been out for 4 days and I am seeing it now!

Man, Sean Connery looks so old in this film. Now Harrison Ford is the one who looks so old.

I'm writing that the year is 2024 and all five Indiana Jones films are available to stream on the streaming service Disney+.
The best in the series.
Like all Indiana Jones Movie, this was perfection. With Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, being the best, this can be easily said as the second best, and close to its first. With Legendary Casts, Soundtracks, and storyline made the movie what its worth. Harrison Ford & Sean Connery, was such an iconic duo on this film. Compared to the last, and it's critics, this one was a clear redemption, and one where we got so much more than we deserved. We got to see the many perspectives of Indiana Jones, some old classic characters returning, and a movie that was extra long for us, with an action pact timeline. Honestly sad that they don't make movies like these anymore, and that many of the cast are gone now, and may the legend Sean Connery rest in peace. In all Honesty here, if your looking for an action pact, comedic, and with adventure movie, this is it. What a blast it was to re-watch it during Christmas!!!
But why is the first film the best? Seems it's because it was the first one and people have a lot of nostalgia for it. I really feel TLC is the best in the series. The chemistry between Ford and Connery was gold, the humor was great, and the spectacles were epic (especially the climax).

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom had to be rewatched as part of the marathon watches for the new film. It better be at least decent!!!

My only suggestion would have been to have Sean Connery be Abner Ravenwood, instead of Indy Sr.

Is it just me, or does this trailer pretty much spoil all the best jokes and action sequences? I mean, it outright spoils 2 of the 3 Grail Trials.

Weak, very weak. George Lucas is a sellout to cheesy punch-lines aimed at 6-year-olds, he never truly had any writing talent.

You could say that to the prequels, but the Indiana Jones franchise and original Star Wars? Dialogue is not on George’s side besides Indy and OG Star Wars (they’re great, but Indy also had Steven). However his imagination and story telling does brilliance

The best movie in the Indiana Jones saga is the Raiders of the Lost Ark, after the Temple of Doom, the Last Crusade has the problem of Sean Connery's character, very unbearable, very different from River Phoenix, who contributes a lot with his performance.
