The artstyle reminded me of a game I havent played since I was 12. Simcity 2000. Lot of memories from that, and trying to figure out how to play it with my logitech controller
@@Hendlton FELLOW CREEPER WORLD FAN LES GO I've played through 1-3 so many times over the years (mainly because of getting new computers and having to reinstall them, though now I have the series on Steam so I just, have em, Particle Fleet and 4 are great too) it's ridiculous 3 especially holds a place in my heart because it added so much replay value and versatility with the addition of CRPL
I watched you play for 2 minutes before buying this. I love the look and playstyle of this so much, I think it might scratch that 'Retro RTS' itch I've had.
Thanks for the video since it made me check it out and I saw there was a demo so I just played it and I love it, it's what I really wanted from They Are Billions and the dev seems active and responsive to bug reports on the official discord. Excited for the possibilities with all the ships/captains/factions. If you're aiming to keep playing after the video and want a tip: flamethrower bunkers are *amazing* (and cyborg bunkers), particularly with the commander unlocked by killing 1000 enemies with fire (and their special passives are insane). I also like the robot guy you played 2nd in this video; one of his special passives is to get Android spawns every time the ship delivers from orbit based on how much manpower you're making on the ship. I had 200+ androids one run from that.
Lovely, another comforting story to relax a lull me to sleep for the night. Love your work, AA! My favorite amphibian, please play Stardeus. Its latest updates are quite fun.

They Are Billions kinda screwed up toward the end. They had a great system going, to the point where its the game everyone mentions when another RTS like this pops up. But, ever since the campaign showed up the game went downhill. The campaign is extremely swingy in difficulty and the survival mode added some super-zombie thing that if it gets wind of your town it runs at it and draws everything it crosses with it, including triggering towns. So you can get slapped with "multiple hordes" at points of the game you werent supposed to. And they just left the game like that. I used to love They Are Billions but now its just obnoxious to play
I like the style. The blaster shots and the buildings remind me of what people in the 80s and 90s thought the future could be. Reminds me of Megaman, star trek, and kind of starship troopers. That optimistic, hopeful future full of advanced tech and forward mobility, but at the same time, there are challenges in the world that need to be overcome. Back before everyone realized that the major challenge of the future (meaning today since we are talking about back then) was nihilism, feminism, and lack of a culture worth fighting for.
How I watch AAVODs: A 5-step tutorial. Step 1 - I click a video that contains interesting keywords. Step 2 - I watch 1-2 minutes of video. Step 3 - I decide if I like the game. Step 4 - I say "Thanks for the recc n!99a." Step 5 - I click off the video.
Haha I'm like the exact opposite. I don't believe sim games are really fun as it's not really interactive compared to action rpgs or other genres. I just watch AA because he makes them fun to listen to while I play real video games haha

Makes me think of the original Xcom, myself.
Obscure but it reminds me of LEGO Battles for the DS.
It's like if Creeper World and They are billions had a baby and it's beautiful
am getting that vibe too :)
I played Creeper World endlessly when I was a kid. It was so simple and yet so satisfying.
@@Hendlton next chapter looks wild. Now it would be CW2 but Noita

How do you know "hab" isn't short for haberdashery?🤔 hmm?
Oh so it's like Creepers ? Neat
Creeper World series is so good. Mostly
This is one of the coolest games Ive ever seen. The level of detail is nuts.
That is such a good spawn, tried the game a bit and always got open spaces pretty much. More realstate but also much harder to defend.
