Scott did a short where he was "searching for Christmas songs" they hadn't covered yet. He found the word "snow" in Kiss From A Rose so it made it to his list!
If you like Scott's entry into the song in this version, wait until you see the live performance - I think he even startled Kirstie and Mitch, who both reached up to their In-Ear Monitors and switched them at the same time right after Scott started his solo!
Kevin is playing an electric cello in this song, and he can switch it to sound like an electric guitar - that's what you heard. And then he comes out with that "Bay-bee" at the end of his cello solo - I thought it was Mitch until I saw the live video!

Definitely at least watch the video for yourself, it’s amazing. You can see Kevin playing the electric cello and beatboxing at the same time, and that high note after the cello solo was him. Everyone’s just on their best form for this song.

Great reaction! The VEVO live video is a must see. Trust us!! This yule log version is great, but the live is amazing!! Kevin kills it with the celloboxing. Their "Christmas" songs are a favorite all year long to the Pentaholics! So don't worry about the time of year, we will be here for it!

Yeah you really need to watch the live performance - it's worth it! Watching Kevin playing that cello solo and singing the VERY high note at the end of it is worth the vid all by itself

Their vocals ALWAYS show through but you truly need the video here. The order of singing: Mitch, Scott, Matt, Scott, Mitch with Kirstie in there and then Kevin going hard on the cello and the high notes following Kevin’s cello is Kevin. Absolutely mind blowing. Pentatonix truly knows no bounds.

We usually get a Mitch Slap at that moment but were surprised by the KO by Kevin.
Pentatonix also has been telling us what qualifies as a Christmas song for years. This one qualified because the word snow was in it.

I thought at the end of that part they were going to go into the Devil Went Down to Georgia. lol I'll prepare to be struck down by Home Fries but I think I prefer Pentatonix. It might just be that of the songs I've heard from both so far I prefer the one's Pentatonix have done. Both are of course brilliant at what they do though.
I always thought Kiss from a Rose was Seal's Tracy Chapman's Fast Cars moment. The only song most people know from either artist. I honestly couldn't name another from him.

Red, you need to realize that, as good as this was, the live version makes this seem "okay." The energy, the chemistry, the visuals... this is one of (if not the only) times that their live version sounds better than their studio version. When I say "better," I mean by a mile. As to being blocked, many other reactors have gotten theirs through. They can do it... You can do it. You're plenty imaginative enough to do it!! I'll be a bit more emphatic... The live version of this is (get ready) one of the top three performances I have EVER seen (or heard) by Pentatonix, live OR recorded. It totally blew me away. As much as you enjoyed this.... enough said.

This is the live version you should have gotten, they really show out in it, and since it was filmed at vevo studios as part of PTX's new found record label independance, you can show the video without it getting blocked.
