  • The xTool P2 Laser Engraver is BIG and so I made a work station for it that Is the smallest footprint I could make it, with under cabinet storage, Smoke evacuation hookup, stable wheels and most importantly I use the FlexiSpot E7 Plus 4 Leg Standing Desk to enable it to raise and lower its height for a good ergonomic working height as well as being able to match up with other work surfaces when using the conveyor system.

    This looks fantastic! I have my Shapako 5 pro on a flexispot E7( not the plus) with casters and I'm so glad I did that. I actually just purchased the legs with no top and built my own. My thought was, I could put it up high when I'm not using it and store other machines beneath it. Of course I've been using it all the time so I haven't stored anything beneath it, but it sure was nice to raise that thing up and sit on a shop stool and attach the controller ect.
    You may have talked about this in other videos or it might not have been a consideration for you, but I keep going back between the Xtool S1 and the P2. I saved up enough to get the P2, but I'm currently just a hobbyist with asperations and I only have a two car garage. the P2 seems so much bigger. I am coming from an open 20w D1 pro so any of them will be an upgrade, but i'm curious how you or some of your viewers made their decisions.
    Edited to say I obviously wrote this as I was watchin the video and I am now on the part where you show your S1 ;-/

      Yea so I own both obviously, the s1 is excellent but I will say I go to the p2 automatically first. The camera system on it is great. I will say though it’s a toss up. It all comes down to acrylic and glass. If you want to be able to use those products across-the-board you go with the P2 if that’s not as big of a deal then you could save space and money and get the S1.

    Fantastic work, dude! It turned out fantastic! 😃
    For the small stuff you can use one of those things with drawers... I forgot the name... You could even 3d print it!
    Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

      Thanks! Yea will prob make drawers inside the cabinet doors, I ended up with tons of extra storage space in there so wanted to figure out what I was going to go in there first before adding those, always a good prob to have extra storage you don’t know what to fill with 😆

    For cable management how about flexible track like on a cnc machine. It could help with neatness (I love your attention to organization) and keep wires from getting hung up in moblie mode. Love the content of your videos.

    @CarlHolmgrenwoodworking
    Has some great retracing caster designs that could be implemented. That let it sit flat on it's feet. Drawback is more tools required to make some. Worth looking into.

    Can you afford to lose some under-table height and install first caster option backwards? Casters would protrude 7 inches inward, under table bottom shelf.

      @BitnerBuilt  Pƙed 4 měsĂci

      I thought of that but then the back ones would be inaccessible due to being under the cabinet against the wall

    Will it crush a soda pop can if you place it on the cabinet under the top? Please say yes.

      So it actually has a sensor to prevent it from hitting anything but I’m sure you could always disable that 😅

    I thought about these casters but is it not to much work to lock them?

    • @BitnerBuilt
      @BitnerBuilt  Pƙed 2 měsĂci

      No I mainly just do the two front ones when it’s against the wall and you only need to turn the dial just a little bit on each, don’t need crazy height once it lifts off the floor

      @@BitnerBuilt thank you for that advice. Now I will use them as well... Thought you have to screw a lot...
