You did such a great job I will be reviewing all the rest of your videos. Thank you for share and providing awesome information. Hope you continue to provide amazing videos. God Bless you
Love mine and can’t wait for cold weather to return. Be sure to get a welders quilt or something to put under your stove to prevent embers from landing on the floor when you feed the fire. Great tent for sure. Waterproof stitching throughout.
@@jacksoutdoorlife Nice. I've got the large double glass winnerwell. Love it. Those stoves will roast you out quick if you let them. And yes, it'll pan cook and boil pots just fine without opening up the lid, but I'm going to try using an afghan pressure cooker with an open lid this fall/winter.
Thank you for the tour Jack! I ordered my 13' a few days ago and plan to live out of it up here in Alaska during the warmer months and give it a try over the winter. You're review was great and really sealed the deal for me. Thanks!
@jacksoutdoorlife Any tips about set up? The opposite wall always seems to sag a bit. Is it the centre pole or the the guy lines? Maybe when I pegged the tent out it's not taut enough?Curious to see what you think.
I would not think it was the center pole. I have found that a wall may sag a bit when the ground is not level when it is set up. I don't pull it real taught across the bottom. If the guy lines are not tight it will definately sag.
@jacksoutdoorlife Thank you. Appreciate it. I've only set it up 4 times so I'm sure it'll come with practice. It's a great tent. Withstood an all day rain and a 25 minute downpour. Stayed bone dry inside.
My opinion you just completed the best review of White Duck tent I have seen. I was on the fence between WD and Kodiak. Will order the White Duck!!!! Thanks for a straight forward review. Enjoy your awesome tent. Stay safe and healthy
Thank you sir for the comments, just camped for the first time in that tent last night (9/24/21) with my grandson. Love that tent, will post a video of the camp tomorrow afternoon or monday.
Jack I was sold on White Duck Outdoors since I had picked up my Regatta 10ft last year with the Awning and Windjammer. I haven't had the chance to use my tent, but their customer service is why they have me as a customer for life. Now thanks to your video my only regret was not picking up the 13 foot tent...
Thanks for the video! I just bought the 16' Avalon bell tent & the guide gear small wood stove. Really excited to do some full week camping in the cold. Thanks again for the video.
I have come to watch this video several times. I think you have the best review on youtube. I may opt for the avalon for the extra windows for air flow. Having a hard time tho between that and a Kodiak cabin tent. The bell tent just looks to be SO MUCH EASIER
Thanks, I am about to post another video today or tomorrow camping in that tent with more information. I love that tent but it has one problem I will discuss in the new video.

Thank you for commenting, I have camped in mine five times so far, love it. One night had a hard rain for two hours, tent did not leak a drop. Headed out for a 8 day camp in two days.

Thank you for this review. I'm looking for a more mobile alternative to cutting ridge/eaves poles to set up a wall tent. Just a little worried how it will do in the snow here in the NW.
do you think you could camp in this tent with an ac unit and how would you go about drying it out if it was just in only humid weather? (do you still have this tent?)
Something about this camera angle makes the tent seem inconsistent and hard to tell what size it is relative to you throughout this video. It made it seem much larger once you were inside, just an honest observation.
It is deceptive to a certain extent. You're right. He looks 4 feet tall. Lol. But it really has a lot of room. 2 cots with a wood stove. 3 cots without. 6 sleeping on the floor. Very roomey and comfortable.
Thanks man. Good over look at the tent. Just bought a 16.5 Avalon 2 days ago. Waiting for it’s arrival up here in Canada. Can’t wait to get mine out this summer. Don’t know if I’ll winter camp but I’ll be taking advantage of some fall lake trout fishing. I’ll probably use a generator with electric heat this fall but I’ll be looking into a stove for next yr. Any recommendations? Quality is of the utmost concern, I’ll worry about price after that. Thanks.
Thanks Joe, I have a winnerwell woodlander medium stove. It is all stainless steel very well built. It heats my 13 foot tent with no problem. It does burn wood pretty quickly so I have to keep it fed. I have a review of this stove, check it out. When I don"t use my stove I use a Buddy propane heater it works well also
Hey Jack, we have the same tent and also had issues with getting the front zipper to close all the way. Did you figure out how to take the tension off that area so the zipper closes easily? Great video btw. Thanks for posting this.
Thanks Hunter, I have not set it up again but I think that I will not put the stake in the loop right in front of the door pole. I think that will give it enough upward slack to zip closed.
If you look at the video at about the 3 1/2 minute mark you can see that the stake has that area pulled down, I think with that stake removed there will be slack enough to close
Move the bottom of the pole back a bit and loosen the floor peg in the middle of the door base. it’ll zip. I have the same tent the center door pole made me buy the Avalon to get the a-frame door pole. The center door pole is only good for getting in the door while drunk. Other than that, it blocks access and your view.
Great video! Thanks for filming and posting it. Quick question, I've been deciding between this one and the 16 and a half footer. I'm going to have a stove and three guys with light gear. Do you think the 13 would be big enough or should I go for the 16 and a half?
I was looking for a throwback (military style) tent, and this thing fits the bill in every way!! The stovepipe opening is a fantastic addition. Any qualms after using it? Anything I should lookout for?
Oh! You're in south MS? I've been looking for a deal on a few unrestricted acres to buy in south MS for a low price. Land I can set up a similar style tent to live in while i build a solar shed/cabin or maybe just pull in a self contained little camper. If you know anybody with land they'd part with please lmk.
I wouldn't recommend propane use. It produces a lot of moisture in the air when it burns and could result in molding issues. I'd recommend a small wood stove. They produce a a dry heat that won't cause any molding issues

Very helpful video! Do you know the length from the back wall to the middle pole?
From the front to the back is about 12 ft six so around six feet from back to pole.
Are your camping partners little people, that use the outside four feet of the inside of the tent?
Yeah elves
Hey Jack,
Did you get the water and fire resistant model? Or just the water resistant?
Thank you for the video!
The water resistant model was available way sooner than water and fire so I got the water resistant model, it has not leaked a drop so far.
Thanks for the wonderful review! What are your thoughts on using a propane stove in the tent? Do you think it has good enough ventilation
I use a propane heater at times in mine. There are three windows and vents in the top. Plus the large front door
I wouldn't recommend propane use. It produces a lot of moisture in the air when it burns and could result in molding issues. I'd recommend a small wood stove. They produce a a dry heat that won't cause any molding issues
Great video Jack - how much trouble was it to get the tent to fit back into the bag?
It goes in quite easily if you fold the tent correctly.
To separate the ground sheet from tent to roll up sides a good idea that be better?
The groundsheet is sewn into the tent, cannot roll up the sides on the regatta.

Has it been in high winds? How did it hold up?
I was in 25-30 mph winds last friday night, it held up great
Have you tried ac with this?
no i have not, I don't know how you would vent the ac outside other than sitting it in the door
@Jack's Outdoor Life I was thinking ac vent where the heater vent is.
Worst tent design ever!!
