- Welcome back to our annual Striper Migration Map updates! It's been a long winter, but with water temperatures almost exactly where they were this time last year, the striper migration is underway.
The month of March started off slow for New Jersey anglers targeting bass in the rivers, but after some mild weather, the Raritan Bay popped off with schools of bunker, diving gannets and big bass in the 40-inch range biting large swimming plugs and flutter spoons. This week, OTW's Assistant Editor Matt Haeffner covers the developing bite around New Jersey and the Hudson River as 20- and 30-pound-class fish head into their Chesapeake Bay spawning grounds.
I am a land bound fisherman as I have been for over 55 years so I count on these update Ty

Going out for some shore fishing on the Hudson River in the Rockland County area this Saturday. Hoping the 3 days on temps in the 80's are gonna get them fired up!!!!

Here's holding onto the slim hope that the Frances will resume their nighttime striper trips this year. Ever since the slot limit and circle hook requirements went into effect, they stopped doing them.

What is the importance of mentioning sea lice? Truly information seeking for a beginner.....
