The reduced key rollover mode might be for USB or even PS/2 compatibility. The base keyboard protocol only allows for up to 6kro (+modifiers), increasing this is a hack of sorts. Most modern systems can handle this fine, similarly to increasing the polling rate, but some ancient office specific systems might not.
thanks for the review, enjoyed the Mission Impossible reference, I used to watch the old TV show with my family, and it was a riot! Probably not my preferred layout or styling, but I actually would say the most interesting thing was a transparent POM plate, I’d have thought that was polycarbonate, and haven’t seen transparent POM before (usually it seems like it’s milky or black).

The things you pointed out were concerning. I’d prefer adjustable legs, and I really dislike when the rubber feet do not hold up long term (that’s a big deal to me, and the glue you pointed out - that’s concerning). It sounds nice, but it seems to need more attention to quality. What is your preferred quality built/feeling keyboard - with a nice thock sound (out of the box)? Thanks for the video. Very well done. Nice review as always CT. I was impressed with the software, gromets and the keys seemed to be nice and smooth. No clacking or rattle which is a big selling point for me. Agree that the kb would have had a great USP if they had used recycled plastic, rather than looking like it. Shame they let the design down by using snap fittings instead of actual screws. It's a modular design at heart but with those snap fittings it reduces the ability to replace components. A silly budgeting design decision that has reduced it's total worth. I hope you pick up a few low profile options as they would be of more interest to me. Having used a laptop for over a decade now, I just can't get use to unrealistically high kbs.

How are the stabilizers out of the box? I’m looking for a new board as the stabs on my Keychron Q1 V2 are pretty horrendous and the arrow keys also are misaligned. Very disappointing product but perhaps I just received a dud unit. Thanks!
Pretty good actually, I didn't feel to mod/change anything out of the box it was fine. But keep in mind that these are plate mounted stabs, regular screw-ins or even clip-ins won't fit here.
@@CheeseTurbulence I’ve heard the sonic switches have a lot of keywobble compared to the box switches you can get with this. I’ve been holding off hoping the tactile box switches get added to the US warehouse eventually but I might pick up one with the box plastics. Thanks for the review. I hope Melgeek does another TKL/75% style layout again down the road or better one with the numpad on the left side of the board. I’m actually pretty impressed how cheap the modern 97 is for how good its sound profile/stabs/typing experience seems to be.
