      Yeah, some interesting periods and patterns were missed, for example:
      Early Napoleonic era(1799): Suvorov's grenadiers in Italy.
      Caucasian wars, 1800-1860' - specially Cossack uniform - beautiful mix of cultures and styles (papakha hat, cherkeska coat, burka - cloak etc.) Some Cossack regiments show high efficiency during Crimean war too.
      Operations in Middle Asia 1860-70 (Turkestan campaigns) - soldiers in uniform similar to french legionaries during colonial wars.
      Russian-Turkish war 1877-78: Cool modern uniform.
      Soviet:
      Interwar period uniform had some changes during 1920-30's: different types of "buddenovka" hats, Hadrian helmets and "СШ-36" helmets, a lot of small details and communist symbol, really fresh breath in uniform history.
      Modern period:
      2nd Chechen war (2000) - August 2008 war - Crimean occupation 2014 (new camouflage without identification marks)
      Also could add some specops units: Soviet Airborne troops "VDV" / soviet "Alpha" in Afghanistan / Russian Spetsnaz GRU during Chechen wars and counter-terrorist operations.
      It would be really interesting video 15+ min long like your newest work about British uniform))

      They were much more utilitarian in their design than other European uniforms of the time and resemble more light infantry than anything else. They deviated quite a bit from the standard Prussian style uniforms that Russia, and much of Europe, had been using up to that point, and could easily be confused for something out of the napoleonic wars.

      @Дмитрий Климов not true at all
      5.45x39 7n6 is more effective in wounding because of design of bullet and hollow point it had
      Plus it was lighter,it had lower recoil and more ammo could be carried
      7.62x39 is outdated and never upgraded like 5.45
      For modern army this smaller ammo is better and more effective
      Thats why there is 5.56x45 NATO and thats why soviets quickly swithed to 5.45x39

    • @kobeh6185
      @kobeh6185 Před 3 lety +2

      @Дмитрий Климов The AK-74 was ideal for longer range due to flatter ballistic trajectory. The Muj used 7.62 more often because it was far easier for them to acquire. 7.62 x 39 suffers worse from wind drift and has a shorter range due to a less flat trajectory. The weight of the projectile helps with penetration, but also makes carrying a bunch of ammunition tedious. A bakelite magazine full of 5.45 weights far less than a loaded steel 7.62 magazine.

    • @DejVCZLetsplays
      @DejVCZLetsplays Před 3 lety +1

      @Дмитрий Климов Correct. Most Afghans were equipped with Type-56s (Chinese AKM rifles) chambered in 7.62x39mm. Now the fun part is that they were also issued Type-56 chest rigs whereas the Soviets would still carry magazines in mag pouches so they would often loot the Mujahideen fighters for the chest rigs.

    5:00 Most of the AK's that you see chambered in 7.62x39mm are usually AKM's, you can tell if its an AKM by looking at their muzzle in the front and that it has a stamped receiver, plus the one in the video is an AKM and by 1973 they were already starting to transition into the AK74 which was chambered in 5.45x39mm to counter the western 5.56x45mm NATO rounds. 5:13 the soldier should already have an AK74 but in the video, it's clearly an AKM.

    The fact that when this dude shows the Modern Infantry 2015 you can hear the Russian/Soviet union anthem playing in the backround

      That's because Putin reverted to the Soviet melody in 2000 as national anthem after the 1991 Russian anthem that no-one really liked.

      да там вообще пиздец, показано еще что в холодной войне ак-47 использовали, хотя использовали уже более новое оружие, после выхода 74 начали использовать его. Потому же всякие 103, 12 и так далее(в современности)
