Prepare for the next drought by installing a water collection system. 2022 was a year of historic droughts, and scientists say that the world is only going to get drier. How do we water our garden? We installed 2 different water harvesting systems to harvest rainwater from our roof and gutters. By taking advantage of the fall and winter rains, we are ensuring that we have water for our vegetable garden and fruit trees.

Thanks, my friend. This summer really sent me a wake-up call, so hopefully we’ll be ready for the next drought!
This summer we didn't have much rain and one heatwave after the other. My neighbors have 1 watertank (200l) for the garden. Our gardens are not very big and normally that's sufficient. I have several tanks (they add up to 1000l) but it wasn't not enough this year. I'm going to get at least two more barrels next year. Have a great weekend Valerie 🌻 Greetings Heidi 👩🌾🌸
Hi Heidi, that’s a great idea. You’re right, it was a brutal summer, and although this was the worst, it’s not the first drought/heatwaves we’ve had the past few years. OMG this is such a good and smart idea. We do also collect rainwater but not that much I regret not saving that water for the drought season. Hope this season won't happen again, but it is good to be prepared. You did a great job! I have to research more about this system. 🌞🌼🌸👑🤗
