      It's just a definition
      It's defined by mathematicians to be that way, and the corresponding maths invented is right for that.

    so if the plus c is cancelled why do you need it in the equation? really don't know would love to know the reasoning. otherwise i love watching the videos!

      Imagine that the original function is x ^ 2 / 2, then its derivative is x. What if you add a constant to the original function and make it like x ^ 2 / 2 + 97, what would be its derivative?
