This is the first compilation of my Dokkan history series, covering pretty much the first year of Dokkan. I made some mistakes in my first 5 videos, so I used this video as an opportunity to fix them. Here's a list of the changes made:
02:25 - I previously said that the R Showdown Goku awakened on release, but I was wrong. On JP, the R Showdown Goku didn’t get his awakening until September 2015.
35:11 - That means that the Battle of Gods SSJ Goku was the first ever farmable SSJ Goku, so I added some stuff about that.
51:23 - Added the awakening of the TEQ Showdown R Goku.
1:05:11 - INT Jaco was not a farmable SR. I have no idea why I said that in my previous video.
1:10:49 - Forgot to mention it in my previous video, but the F2P Baba Shop SSRs could super early.
1:14:41 - Also forgot to mention it, but AGL SSJ3 Goku was a game changer for STR Broly’s Dokkan event.
If there are still some mistakes, feel free to correct me, and I’ll make the necessary changes in the next compilation.

Players now don't remember how bad dokkan used to be man 😭😭😭. You had to use dragon stones to clear dokkan events, the animations weren't very good, and the game was SUPER grindy. The rates were also beyond abysmal. Shootout to the OGs really hahaha. That being said, I still enjoy the game to this time and for some reason it managed to hook me in back then too.

AGL Frieza being released in 2015 and it still being able to hold up in red zones and other hard content is just mind blowing.
It's funny because no one used him until the defense meta shift

I don't comment that often but I have to say I sat through the entire hour and was invested the whole time. Seeing the what was the best units at the time and how much the game lacked in terms of QoL is really interesting. I'm looking forward to the next one!
I started playing August 2015 when I found it and showed my two friends (ironically I found it before Resurrection F started; we were at the theater) and we been playing since. This is a nice stroll down memory lane. Thank you.
Man this video was a blast of nostalgia. I’ve been playing Dokkan since I was a sophomore in highschool and now I’ve graduated from college, I’m married, and I have a pretty good job and through everything I’ve been playing Dokkan every step of the way.

little fun fact as well (if you mention this later in the video I am so sorry LOL): when phy fat buu released on global, TEQ Cooler wasn't out yet, but for whatever reason they accidentally released him early unfeatured on the banner, so a lot of people went hard summoning to get him early
I'm not sure, but I think this was a global only thing, I'll point it out if I ever do a global timeline.
I was looking for this type of video since a looong time, like nearly nobody talks about dokkan history and meta before the 1st anniversary and dokkan fest units, it's so cool to hear fun facts about units that seems so random tu us today. Great work, man 👍
Thanks bro, I remember really enjoying those old Tiger videos where he would go over some historical moments of Dokkan. I'm surprised nobody actually tried to do a full history of Dokkan, covering everything from A to Z.
I am commenting this before having finished the video, but my first ever pulled SSRS were STR SSJ3 Goku and PHY Ultimate Gohan. It was the banner where Gohan first released. And get this: I managed to pull both IN THE SAME SUMMON! If you're familiar with the summon rates of that time, you can imagine how great I felt. Man, those where the times.

I fist found this game back in 7th grade. I am now turning 21 this January and I still play to this day. It’s insane to see how much this game has grown over the last 9 years.

Glad to hear that! As for the worldwide video, I'll think about it, but for now, I think it's just better if I cover the game chronologically. I should get there pretty soon anyways.

This makes me realize how hard power creep makes units that used to be MINDBLOWING to you back in the day pretty irrelevant throwaway cards nowadays.
Sr cards used to be powerful, and ssr? SUPER powerful. Now each are never going to be run ever. It's like just like DBZ characters, the power creep keeps growing higher and higher!
I’ve been waiting to come across something like this. I started a little before AGL ss4 vegeta and str ss4 goku came out.
Started at same time Teq Final Form Frieza dropped, and I remember doing my first multi on that very banner and pulling him 1st try. The rest they say, is history.
i started playing global when the TEQ freiza banner dropped. i honestly miss those days i had just gotten my drivers license and remembering this is making me feel old lol haha
This was fun to watch! But my only gripe with this video is with the amount of times you use AI to upscale images. I get that the images are likely pretty low quality, but I’d rather be able to count the pixels on the images than see another Goku with a melted face
I remember people using the Sr Teq Guldo to beat the broly event because after being hit he would lower brolys defense to 0 and then any unit could deal damage to him, crazy
26:45 100 may be an understatement I literally never got him as a drop from the event and I probably did it over 100 times

My 2¢: Lots of viable teams in early game just could never find a friend lead that wasnt fastest. Now only current anniversary and some random gems viable.
Kid buu at the time was really sought-after because there was a mission that you needed to have a team that the HP was 100k or more and the only way at time that you could do that was with kid buu
I started playing the game right at the end of the first rof movie celebration
39:15 He is the only unit to ever change type when dokkan awakening. People used to make concepts for cards that might do the same sometimes but kinda realised it was a really pointless feature over time. Only time it could work nowadays would be for active skills or transformations but it might be more detrimental considering how teams get built nowadays. Also that TEQ SSJ2 Vegeta and AGL Tapion already do by switching from super to extreme type which makes them lose the leader skill boost on some mono teams
Ah back when getting an N unit wasn’t bad, N Killa carried me through those first few quest stages before I had more than 1 ssr and 4 sr’s
you know what is crazy i remember starting before the 1st ani but i never remembered where exactly i started so i always said that i started at 1st ani, but i totally forgot the one piece crossover was before 1st ani and i remember started around that time because i always wished i saved one of those bye goku for collections purposes.

Got a new account, around SSJ3 AGL DF Goku, ballin, got Gogeta later on had like the best team at the time while being fully F2P. Liked using a Over in a Flash/ SSJ3 and Gogeta build a lot.
I broke my Ipad, and didn't have a way to get into that account.
Was demotivated to start again, then SSBKK came out and he brought me back. Had the same account since.

The old god character were the ones that did supers with less than 12 ki
1:14:49 Not sure about JP but on global that TEQ unit could initially be sold for 15k baba points each. I didn’t have good enough units to get to that point before it got fixed though 😅😅
And the AGL SSJ3 Goku washed Broly’s event because he lowered DEF too, I think you needed to hit him with 2 debuffs before he took ‘normal’ damage from other units rather than double digits

Honestly I hope the PHY Majunopr and STR Kibito Strike events get revamps soon. They're now the only Strike Events to never recieve any rereleases.
Also INT Super Saiyan Goku with the armor peevs me off on so many levels. He's not "Super Goku", ok sure that's fine. But why isnt he on Power Beyond Super Saiyan? That's the same form as Super Vegeta & Super Trunks which are on PBSS 💀

I'm confused why you state str Beerus and teq Whis had no good linking partners when they first dropped, even going as far as to say for Beerus's best partner was agl god Goku. When clearly Beerus and Whis share three links together? I think the idea you were going for was to say that they don't have links that make them splashable with most of any of the other usable units _besides themselves_ at the time.
