a man who plays everything his own style and other guitarists styles ! #1 andy is a misteriousss man ...... and 6 dislikes? ohh marty shwartts stop it you!
I swear after playing this I feel like I can play anything. Being accurate at that fast of a pace is tough but once you nail it its soooo fun to play along to. If your struggling a metronome is your best friend. Just keep working at I assure you once you nail it you will be playing this non stop for the next few days and love it.
god. Andy manages to write the most Melodic solos ever. Which is IMPORTANT it what makes a musician. Unlike most metal players that just shred any notes they can, Andy shreds some of the best tunes ever to come from a guitar
Many guys say he sucks because he is using things to mute the strings better is not a reason to say he sucks, he can play clean without the hairband. First learn to play like him then say things like that.
The hairband doesn't do shit. It actually makes the strings a little tougher to play and bend. Andy can plan clean without one too. People dissing andy are just jealous because they will never be even half as good.
People who say that,have clearly no fucking clue,excuse my greek.Guitarists using hairbands or other devices to mute strings for ages and I'm not talking about amateurs,it's a common thing among pros.Greg Howe & Guthrie Govan use hairbands for example.
I would say they focused on the wrong thing. Is it so important to be able to play clean without a hairband or whatever things u can use to mute your guitar? Music is bout the melody and the emotions you bring out. Pointless to waste time on this unimportant things.
+Nicky van der Biezen Agree. And the hairband is to mute the rubbing of the string and the noise of the drive, that's a normal thing, but naysayers loves to say stupid things.
i usually have trouble recording with double tracked harmony, they sound too unnatural when i use harmonizer effects, is it better to record 2 different sets of play and then mix them or is it better to use some harmonizer effect while playing solo cuz harmonizer feels weird especially if guitar tuning is a little non precise. any tips on this. ty
@molywaki He has a killer and super aggressive vibrato. In most of his tracks he has to do a short vibrato because he's got to get back to shredding. ;p
What is his picking hand doing when he starts playing fast at 2:39? Is he individually picking the notes or is he doing hammer on pull offs or is he sweep picking? I’m confused?!? Anybody know?
He's doing alt picking up down up triplets ,/ string skip and the rest of the notes ate legato then goes into alternate picking he says that starting with an upstroke is one of the keys going fast and lining up runs so that the pick lands on a stoke that goes to the next string to maximize efficiency so a lot of times might not always be updown always
Loads of guitarists do it. Mostly in the studio though. Marty Friedman would actually have someone literally put their finger across the first fret as he played. Some guys use tape. It's an extremely common technique people use, like I said, mostly just in the studio.
Can't even find the words to describe how great this song is...
this is another amazing one of andy's pieces, he just keeps shredding... and shredding... and shredding...
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So incredibly Musical!!!!!!!!!!!!
Andy James, you are defiantly one of my biggest influences of all time!
a man who plays everything his own style and other guitarists styles ! #1 andy is a misteriousss man ...... and 6 dislikes? ohh marty shwartts stop it you!
this is an epic song that contains dramatic moments and relief at the same time

I really wish I knew what gear he was using for this song, I love the tone.
Many guys say he sucks because he is using things to mute the strings better is not a reason to say he sucks, he can play clean without the hairband. First learn to play like him then say things like that.
I agree. Though a string dampener really helps in that pre chorus lick

Freaking good
That one dislike is Justin Bieber. Doesn't know real music.
@MrRockismypassion
Not anymore. It's called what lies beneath on the album.
@CoreThrasherGLB The one that isn't out yet.
@TheKHeavy Yeah, in metal soloing volume three.
Daaaammmnnn
reminds me of tears dont fall by bfmv
@CoreThrasherGLB I believe its a new track on his upcoming album
Is andy going to put this on an album? this songs bad ass
1:19 is that double tracked harmony on top? sounds awesome
@MatKiller1197 I believe F# minor/ A major
@borjita696969 Hell yeah. Andy is awesome.
muito bom!
fuckin amazing
It was Return to the World then for his new album he changed it to What Lies Beneath.
is there a dvd with this ?
@sclan2 well said, sir.
He includes it in MS3
I have a question.
What do you recommend for recording guitar covers/demos like these to get the best sound quality possible?
that was some cool ass shredding at 2:35-2:50 ! i liked the song too
Cool
on which licklibrary dvd can you find this in?
@DonkeyPunch1561 harmony under it. sounds awesome.
@saumier1 Andy is the best.
Fucking incredible guitar player.......
@thegodphreaker does andy teach you how to play these song in this dvd?
2:27 to 2:50 is just FRIGGIN EPIC!!!!!!
i usually have trouble recording with double tracked harmony, they sound too unnatural when i use harmonizer effects, is it better to record 2 different sets of play and then mix them or is it better to use some harmonizer effect while playing solo cuz harmonizer feels weird especially if guitar tuning is a little non precise. any tips on this. ty
esto pertenece a que dvd de lick library? y explica como tocar esa cancion?
People are ignorant and piss me off. Hair bands and string muters are also used to reduce the noise from high output pickups and rigs.
Andy is the bomb, check out bullet in the head from his self titled album,.. little faster than this, but equal in melodic beauty
does andy teach this song on any dvd from lick library?
@DonkeyPunch1561 It's probably a third harmony under what he's playing.
Andy has lessons on his DVd... I will make a tab for you all in Gp5 shortly..
Where is the tab
+Blackjack49 Which DVD?
which lick library dvd is this lesson from?
Dampa doesn't mean damper... its a game we used to play as a kid in this country(Philippines)
@andreyt96 yeah, metal soloing v3
@molywaki He has a killer and super aggressive vibrato. In most of his tracks he has to do a short vibrato because he's got to get back to shredding. ;p
is there a backing track of this?
I'd record the harmony then layer over it over the base lead in two tracks. That's what Andy does.
What is his picking hand doing when he starts playing fast at 2:39? Is he individually picking the notes or is he doing hammer on pull offs or is he sweep picking? I’m confused?!? Anybody know?
He's doing alt picking up down up triplets ,/ string skip and the rest of the notes ate legato then goes into alternate picking he says that starting with an upstroke is one of the keys going fast and lining up runs so that the pick lands on a stoke that goes to the next string to maximize efficiency so a lot of times might not always be updown always
goddammit
Loads of guitarists do it. Mostly in the studio though. Marty Friedman would actually have someone literally put their finger across the first fret as he played. Some guys use tape. It's an extremely common technique people use, like I said, mostly just in the studio.
String dampener is the technical term fellas
Anybody know which guitar he's using here?
Fuck. It's like finding out there really is a loving god and he hands you the most perfect chocolate chip cookie dough shake.
What guitar? Plz answer!
quite possibly this one
Well, yeah >__>
Reminds me of "The Good Die Young" by the Scorpions
what harmonies are these? 3rds?
is there a video lesson for this tune?
in what key is that? by the way who would dislike this
Hi, someone can tell me what he plays in the second 1:12 to 1:18.??? pleaseee =)

this version is better than apresentation on emg, both are amazing
anyone knows what scale is this?
Tuning: E Standard
Key: F# minor
The tubing is in Drop D
What is that thing on the 3rd and 4th fret?
