the first girl was really sweet, i had some madagascar hissing cockroaches and theyre pretty sweet and arent gross like the roaches that run around in kitchens
she knew a lot about them and seemed to treat them really well, i hope shes doing good and people arent too mean about her choice of pets < 3
I feel for the parents though.
They've essentially been held against their will for her to possess so many insects. Also, they present a serious health risk and would contaminate everything in the kitchen and bathroom if they were to enter said rooms.

As someone who owns cockroaches, they are actually super good pets! We don’t actually keep pest cockroaches, we keep special breeds like Madagascar’s and blue lined. They live in colonies so it’s good to keep many.

I think the Riley one (“Human Baby”) is not an addiction...From what she described it as, she uses Little Space as a coping mechanism for past trauma (i.e., transitioning, never being a “girl” growing up etc.). Little Space is actually a real thing, and a recommended therapy for many people. People who have a Little Space usually regress to the age when their trauma occurred. I would say I know a lot on this topic, because I know someone who has a Little Space-I hope this makes sense to educate more people further

Honestly, I am glad that the parents support the girls wishes to have cockroaches as pets. It is not a bad hobby and learning biology stuff about them is definitely better than doing other shady stuff. We need insect supporters on this planet and I hope she will keep this fascination with them!

@@internets0up 10 turns into hundreds fast with most invertabrates. "Professional style tanks" arent good for alot of species of inverts either, many get spooked easily. Most tanks don't hold enough humidity and substrate as well, and arent as secure as latched bins. The egg crates aren't random either. By using eggcrates you create surface area for them to nest and sleep in all the little cracks and crevices, way more secure for them so a colony can get established. Egg crates are really common to be used with roaches, crickets, ect. even mealworms! Shes actually taking really good care of her colony, it look pretty well maintained. Better then my local pet stores can do lol.
