  • The 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan is the latest version of VW's best-selling car worldwide. That makes it rather important.
    This latest version is the third generation of VW’s mid-size five-seater family SUV, and its rivals include models from Lexus, Alfa Romeo, Jaguar, Honda, Toyota, Kia, Hyundai, Peugeot, Renault, and more.
    To see how it fares, Vicky Parrott tests the latest Tiguan - complete with 2.0-litre diesel engine - on UK roads, and weighs up its practicality, technology, quality, running costs, comfort and performance. Would you consider a new Tiguan?

    Thank you. It makes a change to hear a really honest opinion despite the manufacturers trying to charm the reviewers with the highest spec they could find. VP proves them wrong.

    Love Vicki's videos. Tend to be honest and non fussy, straight to the point. Not sure if its just the video angle but looks like there is an awful lot of black shiny platics in the front and on that dash. Like its looks and actually like that colour, but sadly, VW keep cutting corners and are just being out done by competitors they used to laugh at and mock.

    Is possible to get the 13inch infotainment with the high spec’d Tiguan RLINE ?

  • @Rm-no6jr
    @Rm-no6jr Před 3 dny

    Thanks a lot. Very nice review. I read comments and people were right and wrong. I have older Tiguan elegance 20inch wheels. There is no DCC on my car. It is really uncomfortable for family on not perfect road. But on German autobahn it drives like a dream. So please avoid 20inch in any combination. And there is a throttle delay which is really bad ( in sport mode it’s ok). Regarding the new Tiguan, that display is horrible the way it located there. My 2021 Tiguan is way more elegant and strong. All in all, Tiguan is a great car. I really recommend it.

  • @krane15
    @krane15 Před 12 dny +2

    @4:50 You don't have the settings right. The adaptive damper basically negate the larger wheel size. You can precisely dial in your comfort settings. That's the point of the option.

    • @madisjaagura
      @madisjaagura Před 12 dny +1

      Yes, comfort is decent and still holds the car on the road very well. But this way the suspension noise would have been even worse - DCC pro is quietest on the hardest setting.

  • @Ionutzz83
    @Ionutzz83 Před 12 dny +3

    You say you expected more comfort from a family SUV.
    If you want comfort you should avoid 20 inch wheels.
    Also, how can you say to avoid DCC Pro when you haven't driven a Tiguan 3 without?
    What makes you think it would be better?
    A Tiguan with 20 inch wheels without DCC Pro will be much worse.
    On 20 inch wheels the DCC Pro will not make such a difference on the dampers side.
    But the DCC Pro does not only control the softness or stifness of the dampers.
    With the DCC Pro the car will be more stable on the road for one thing.
    I drove a Tiguan 3 with DCC Pro, 17 inch wheels and one without.
    Let me tell you, it makes a big difference, specially regarding road stability.
    Come on, I expected more from you.
    If you want to do a fair review, compare both and then draw conclusion.
    Otherwise is just talk.

    • @madisjaagura
      @madisjaagura Před 12 dny +2

      Agreed, DCC pro really works well BUT it is noisy on speed bumps. It also makes you lust for more power (at least with eTSI).

      Well she said she'd driven an ID3 without it, and the Passat a few weeks ago. I don't think the VW press team offer them a choice of spec, she'll get what she's given and it looks like the VW press team dropped the ball with this press car.

    Looks like a big upgrade. Not sure about the looks TBH. One thing I will say, leasing/company rates are good for these and compare well to EV’s like the Enyaq. May well look at a Hybrid version early next year as my next company car.

    I think it's a decent looking car but I hate the massive touchscreen nailed onto the dash - it looks so 'unintegrated'. I guess like a lot of German cars, it has suspension tuned to be rock stable while you hurtle down the autobahn at Warp 9. However, that doesn't work very well for almost anywhere in the UK where a combination of traffic volumes and third world road surfaces mean 40mph feels like an unattainable dream. Great review though and top marks for slipping Darth Vader's helmet into the script without laughing (almost). 🤣
