This is a long one but please read if you see it - offer new contracts to Grimes (og player), Bagayoko (icon from the start), Long and Boateng (experience) and either let the other players with contracts expiring leave or sell them next season to raise funds. Make Castro captain and keep him no matter what. Sort out the kit numbers, the keeper has number 5. You have a really thin squad so next season I’d focus on signing a lot of good squad players. A good mixture of youth and experience with maybe one high profile player in there. Maybe try signing the best players from the relegated teams as they’ll be a bit cheaper and check the transfer listed players and free agents pool. Also start looking out for good pre contract players.

Before you start a career mode their is a page of 8 settings such as difficulty and enabling champions league. One of them will be squads. And you switch it from current squads to current customised. And when you begin career mode all you created players will be useable
This reminds me of a Fifa 18 career mode I had with Macclesfield. I took them from League 2 to the Premier League in about 4/5 seasons with a couple of playoff wins. They also beat Chelsea in stoppage time on the final day to stay up in 17th at Stamford Bridge!
