welcome to the reaction rabbit hole. where instead of finding new experiences, we relive our old ones to remain in comfort knowing we will attain mild enjoyment out of media we already know.
It’s so weird to me that there are some people who don’t like the music and it takes them out of the scene. I’m so far in the opposite camp! The music is fantastic and I love its use in scenes! So good! But to each their own. Your reactions are hilarious and entertaining, even though I hugely disagree with you on the music. 🤣
Honestly, Silco threatening Marcus in his daughter's presence is such a terrifying and well-done scene. I don't see enough people talking about it, it's probably one of my favorites :)
The music in that flare scene sound french, it was a french studio who made the show. Regardless, I found that scene moving as hell. I think the ending of episode 3 made everyone assume Jinx just hates her sister based on our trained soap opera logic. But if you go back to every Jinx scene that mentions Vi until this point, she really just misses her.
Vi-Jinx-Silco: Silco thought that Vi was dead until Silco and Savika learns about Vi's escape from the prison (which is why Silco threatens Marcus' daughter). It was Marcus' job to kill Vi. However, when Jinx found out Vi was actually alive Jinx got mad at Silco for lying to her and wanted to reunite with her sister; which is why she put up the flare. The reason why Jinx asks Vi if she was real was because since episode 3 Jinx thought that Vi was dead and because in episosde 4 she found someone that resembled Vi, but turned out to be "fake." And similar to episode 3, her happiness was once again shattered the next moment when she realized Vi had partnered up with an enforcer. It is by far one of my favorite scenes from the show.
"Our trained soap opera logic" I'll have to write that down! That's exactly how this show got me as well... on several occasions that I don't want to mention here to avoid spoilers. Well played! 🤣
Call Jayce an asshole but what he says was pretty true. Heimer has been a part of Piltover since its founding but because he's a Yordle and so focused on his work, the entire problem of the undercity grew and festered under his watch while he didn't lift a furry paw to do anything about it and couldn't even offer any concrete solutions. Not black and white but I think ultimately voting him off was the right thing to do in the long run.
I think you can see throughout the show that he's very accommodating and kindof a pushover, giving jayce and viktor a second chance, constantly advising them but never interfering because it's their work, that kinda thing. he founded the city but the councillors outnumber him and he's reluctant to play politics. there's a reason they call him professor heimerdinger and not councillor heimerdinger.
Heimerdinger is a bad ruler and unfit to be on the Council, but most of the other councilors are even more unfit. I agree with voting him off, but he definitely was the lesser of problems. imo, it would’ve been ideal for him to be one of the last councilors to go if we’re trying to “drain the swamp” or whatnot, but it is for the best in the long run whether he leaves sooner or later.
Viktor + cane Viktor turning into an Arcanist Show's name is Arcane Viktor's glorious evolution... Similar to Jinx, he is in a weak state rn, but he is scaling hard :D
I don't understand your hate with every kind of OST/Music there is in the show, i can't figure if it's satire or your genuinely hate all of the music this show has, which btw has the perfect lirics for the situation
To clarify your confusion without spoiling Silco didn't know Vi was alive (revealed at the end of the last episode when he said "From the dead?". So he told Jinx that Vi was dead, which was a lie (though he lied because he thought it was true, but Jinx doesn't know that Silco didn't know either). That's what drove Silco to pay Marcus a visit.
it sounds like a small thing but I appreciate you not making uncomfortable comments about vi and Caitlyn :) as a woman who likes women, I hear a lot of comments about them/ only seeing their relationship as a sexual thing/ for male fans and not just a well written relationship/ good representation. its sad to know that I see the negative side pretty often, so I really appreciate you not making it weird LMAO.
Jinx thought Sevika was lying and tried to prove that she was by lighting that blue flare on top of a tower (Vi gave it to her in episode 3 and said she'll find her no matter what) so she was kinda hoping that Sevika wasn't lying inside, basically making an emotionally desperate move, like oh she's back huh we'll see about that secretly praying she will find her by it. Also the Shimmer scientist with the lizard Viktor was with and came to at the end is Singed, he got burnt by the Shimmer lighting up with Powder's bomb in episode 3. Lots of things from episode 3 coming back huh, I guess fitting from finale of act 1 to finale of act 2.
I actually don't like Heimer that much, he is far too ignorant of the constant pain caused by the absence of any improvement. He is right that magic is dangerous, but it's not like inaction does anything to the already existing violence and oppression happening daily, For which Viktor as a Zaunite is the perfect metaphor, slowly dwindling away while offering nothing more than some words of solace, not even giving him the thought of being able to help himself with magic. Arcane really does well with giving him solid reasonings, but showing clearly by every other character how that philosophy he has still lead to the development of shimmer and the growing unrest
It's okay to not like Heimer that much. but it's impossible to argue against his perspective. as messed up as it is Piltover has an ecosystem, it's flawed and full of pain yes (There is just too much to critique about Piltover. Hell this whole show is grounded on this fact), but at least it is still a Nation.
