Brad responded to someone a few minutes into Stage 4 with "you didn't miss much, the stage just started". Made me reflect that what is taken from you at that stage is a sense of time, since the structure of the music is gone. When that person asked what he missed, the stage may as well have just started. Just like it is with dementia, you're trapped in a timeless, incomprehensible expanse. The project has such an appropriate name.

Playing this high and not knowing what it was about was a wild rollercoaster. But even knowing what its about is still a wild ride

As someone who believes in an afterlife, the end gives me chills. Like an angel is coming down to free the patient from their suffering and the last sounds they hear is the angelic choir singing before you die.

So much of the later stages sound like the first electronic music from the 1930s to 1950s that was just the manipulation of tapes. I get serious Otto Luenig and Pierre Schaeffer through Lustmord vibes from this.

I listened to this whole thing at once one day in High School. I wrote down my thoughts while it was playing and I literally created an entire alternate life for myself where I went to war and then bought a farm when I got back. I even had a family lol. But then it got really scary at some points, like, for one I remember this giant chair in a completely pitch black room with a light shining down on it that got brighter as the flutes and bells chimed in during the static of one part. Like I was old but also really small so the chair was 30x my height and it was the only thing I could see. Almost like I was on an island at night or something without any wind or water. Then there was this room that I would walk through and it had red walls, but it looked just like the farm house I also imagined, but I would walk around in circles (like, there was a corridor and when I went through one door and came back through one on the other side of the house in a constant loop. Kind of like PT in retrospect but it just came to me out of nowhere) but the house would change each time I looped around and little shattered pieces of the house started to turn black, like if you shattered the ground like glass and it fell into a pit or something. Truly horrific stuff lmao.

4:00:44 I was actually genuinely happy to hear a full whistle. After HOURS of garbled mess that your brain is trying and failing to make sense of or even recognize as a singular sound, voice, instrument, noise, object, ANYTHING; hearing something the brain could actually define was so refreshing.

Its not as depressing as it is physically hard to keep listening and watching.

Probably one of the best episodes of an animation I’ve ever seen. From voice acting, to animation, writing, etc. it subverts so many expectations and could genuinely make you cry. Everyone makes choices that make sense for their character yet the outcome is so fucked that you’d think some moment would be hard to buy, but there isn’t a single moment like that. Also the voice actress for powder was fucking incredible in this episode. Some of the best voice acting I’ve ever heard and yet she’s so young.

Did this guy give up on posting? He’s pretty funny and has a good personality. I hope he’s doing alright😕
