@@cobrafan427 It's under controls option. And you turn 'driving assists' OFF. I only turn them off, and drive on manual in Superspeedways.
Even so, I can never pass high on any track except road courses.

You gotta admit SHR schooled the field this race. Despite how bad it was, great effort by that team.
I think others would have been quicker if they worked with each other and knew how to plate race. SHR was wise and smart and that's why they pulled away. I'm tired of people calling the race boring though. If it was bad, blame the drivers who didn't know how to race, not NASCAR.
@@MattChaffe Penske would've been able to keep up beacuse they have the 2 best plate racers in keslowski and Logano but unfortunately blaney was having problems all day and when the outside doesn't want to form 2 good cars and one bad one aren't gonna be able to make it work
Matt Chaffe I agree. Credit to SHR on great strategy and phenomenal cars, but the rest of the pack was essentially racing for fifth. They would never coordinate.

Crrrlrs_14 I told people for some odd reason Blaney was a hazard out there not even trying to go with anyone. It felt like the 12, 17, 19, and 21 all were racing for themselves instead of actually trying to catch the SHR cars.
SHR absolutely dominated the race. Shout out to AA for earning that W. Well deserved!

The first race I watched live on TV after a 7 year hiatus away from NASCAR and what a weird way to come back to the sport. Kurt was always my man when he was running for Roush so I thought he had it in the bag and I was fuggin' stoked till he ran out of gas. Almirola won and I didn't think it was anything special until I found out that he'd only managed to win 1 other race since the last time I'd watched a NASCAR race. And the fact SHR ran 1-2-3-4 most of the day was just odd.

In the post-race interview Kurt Busch was talking about there's supposed to be a yellow flag when an ambulance has to be brought on to the track (presumably about that last-lap wreck). Was there an ambulance, and who was it for? And are they OK?
There was, it was for Elliott, they only brought it out because he could not drive his car back to infield so they came and got him.

Its funny that everyone wants old racing to make a comeback but we just seen a decades old style race and now everyone is complaining.... nascar fans can never be happy and the attitude is killing the sport not the racing... the racing has been light years better this year!! With a couple exceptions every race has been good whether it's just good racing, the drama, the unbelievable finishes, or the the playoff implications!!! Great season!

@@JustinNYCode3. wasn't a huge fan of the entire race but to me all the in car audio and strategies and of course SHR domination made for a great race! If you dive in deeper into the sport you realize how cool racing is, and how much really comes into play! Wish more people gave it a shot

@@codyflower420 it's something that I also don't get. Sonoma is considered a bad track because there aren't many overtaking opportunities and boring racing. But from a strategical aspect it's one of the best tracks beside Watkins Glen and Atlanta.

One of the most lackluster dega races ive ever watched.
It was a boring race, but despite that, you really have to respect the impressive job SHR did to dominate like they did, that was certainly one interesting thing about the race. It was below average as far as Talladega races go but it was pretty average as far as Cup races go.
Very good, not being bias cause I'm an Almirola fan, but the strategy all race was really exciting. Loved seeing the people who didn't know how to plate race not work their way up to the front and maybe pass the SHR drivers.

Word for NASCAR: Don't add this tall of a spoiler ever again. Drag is too high and it just sucks for side by side action or anything off the bottom lane. It was a good strategy race, but most people expected a huge race for dega and this wasn't anything close to what they expected.

@@hiddenjocelyn1088 from 0:00 to 0:19 they over sell this race, making it sound like all races held at Talladega are chaos filled unique races. With Sunday's race you could have gone to MIS and seen the same single file "action". I'm not a fan of wreckfests but I perfer multiple lead changes.

JUST SAYING..... If I'm the 41 (or the 14 or the 4, for that matter), I don't mind a bit if the 10 gets a spot in the next or the next-next round :-) A nice aero race like this is a good way to put the 10 in 'contention' and remove at least one other threat.....

They have this in effect for safety reasons,so air doesn't get under the car to lift them in the air for a blower

Hopefully MTJ can rebound at Kansas. NOT get in a wreck and have a poop car. He's 18 points above the cutoff as it stands now. So all he's gotta do is finish in front of everyone behind him; Keselowski, Bowman, Larson and Blaney. Bowman can only advance with a race win, being 68 back.

For all of you who forgot. The 10 car was always good here with Danica. She led more laps at Talladega than any other track. Wrecks, pit misques and getting in a line where she couldn't move up were the reasons she didn't get great finishes here. I always knew 10 would get a win here at Dega' but thought it would be Danica. So 10 winning is no surprise at all.
Its no surprise because of the fact shr and ford in general has plate racing dialed in. If danica was always so good here, why doesnt she have a win here? Or a win in general? She was a trash racer, and almirola proved that this car can have a better finishing position than 25th
Josef Stalin First off this was a different type of Talladega than we have seen in the past. Previous races featured three wide racing and nobody could move forward. This race is the first time I can remember a breakaway pack at the front. If you watch previous races she had led laps, finished stages in the top 10 and been 5th on the last restart and got passed and nobody would help her. Even her so called teammates. That's why she never won even though she did a great job every time she raced here.
Josef Stalin Another thing. The only reason he won was Busch ran out of gas. Both cars would have played defense until the trioval then raced it out. F the 4 or 14 had still been in the running they probably would have won and he would have finished 4th.
The 10 car this year has the last years 41 equipment while the 41 this year has the 10s equipment from last year
@@Davehash she may have been a decent plate racer, but plate racing is known as an "equalizer" of sorts, meaning anyone can run at the front at any point in time, unless the aero is messed up.
Could you NOT add that obviously fake echo effect to the radio announcers.
Boring. "Individual" racing is practically dead, "team" racing is the name of the game now....and even that was boring given SHR dominance this day. Also, the race is a perfect example as to why fans are so frustrated with NASCAR and how they apply their rules........letting the boys race back to the finish even though you had a crash on the last lap is totally contrary to NASCAR's "rules". Kurt Busch has a legitimate gripe...
