About me:
I am a Travel Consultant with over 20 years of experience in group travel and land packages etc. After several requests I started doing Travel Vlogs in late 2018 and more actively Aruba Walks & Vlogs in 2020.
Thanks for these fantastic videos! I have been regularly vacationing in Aruba since the mid 1980's, so it feels like my second home. A lot has changed in that time, but it's still my favorite place.
Thank you too :-) The 80's was my favorite time to have been on the island. Life was much more simple and less crowded.
Great tour. I will be in Aruba for the 1st time Sept 3 thru 11 and will defintely try a few restaurants
Sounds great. As you saw, there are some really good ones along this street!
Just discovered your channel. We’ve been coming to Aruba since 1987 and own at Playa Linda but every few years will stay a couple extra nights downtown. We just walked Wilhelmina Str from the Renaissance to the Wilhelmina Restaurant this past November and sat in that lovely park while waiting for our reservation. Love your tour!
Nice to hear and Welcome :-) I get the feeling that this street will get some development in the coming years. It's truly full of potential!
@@LetsgowithHyro We’re still looking for a good Indonesian restaurant. Years ago we ate at The Floating Bali and then Warung Jawa’s. Both are long gone. We tried the Surinamese place up from the high rises but its not the same. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the walk Hyro will definitely check it out when we are in Aruba at the end of the month
Hope you enjoy it Frank!
Saludos desde Colombia
🙌🏼🇨🇴Saludos
thank you Hyro
Thanks for passing by!
Will be there next month for 16 days.
Cool!!
I've been traveling to Aruba for 20 years and have never been down that street. Thanks for the tour, I'll explore it on my next visit.
That's great to know that I am able to help you explore new areas. It's full of very nice restaurants. I hope you are able to try a few of them next time. Thanks for watching.
Same👍
very interesting and educational video Hyro, thank you for sharing this with us my friend
Glad you enjoyed it my friend, thanks for visiting!
This walk brings me back to the 90's! I bought my first snorkeling set at Mario's and would frequently dine at Que Pasa! A beautiful street, showing the variety in architecture on Aruba! Masha danki Hyro! Take care, bro
Danki tambe Ewoud! Mario’s y Que Pasa are still here which is nice to see! Wilhelminastraat is a beautiful street🙌🏼
Comment from Dave Polson was exactly what I was going to say. I've been behind the Renaissance Mall area, but never up this street. Thanks, Hyro, if I get back to Aruba, I'll have to check it out
It's a very interesting street as you can see. Even though we could not see them but most of those restaurants are beautiful on the inside!
i enjoyd the video thank you
Glad you enjoyed it Rob, have a great weekend!
Excellent production Hyro but missing Marleen 🤨
🤔 I agree, but she will be in some of the next couple of videos.
Great video i really love your walks around Oranjestad
Thanks Rick!
Great tour Hyro!! The house where your great grandfather lived, wow your Aruba roots run deep. So many interesting buildings there to see. You also showed us some rather interesting looking restaurants along the way and it would be nice to have a look inside.
Thanks Brian! The best of these restaurants are on the inside and with time I hope to feature some of them.
@@LetsgowithHyro Thanks Hyro, it’s always a pleasure when you respond.
So informative! Liked the old pictures you showed us and how we could compare to the present 😊 Also, 809 is the Dominican Republic’s area code…wonder if there’s some connection with the just mentioned island 😊
Truly loved making this one for you all, especially with those old photos. Interesting you mention that about the Dominican area code because there is a fairly large community of them living in Aruba.
Is Cafe Madeira closed for good?
I do believe so yes.
Any exclusive beach front homes?
Not in Oranjestad but from the old photos I can notice that the water levels used to be way more inland.
For some reason my what’s app isn’t working correctly
