- This is a quick review over the 2018 Honda Civic EX with Honda sensing if you want to brief explanation of what Honda since he is and how it works on the Civic this will help I also over all the features and functions in the car to better explain it in case you already purchased one or are considering purchasing one.
I just got a 2019 EX model a couple days ago. Freaking love it!! Best car I’ve ever owned. Proud to be a member of the Honda family now!

We just bought a 2018 Civic ESL last week, leather, all the goodies. Love this car.With the turbo and strut/multilink suspension, it performs really well for the price.Very fun to drive.
just got one myself and the same issue with front parking sensors that previous models had. cant belileve they haven't fixed it. considering cutting my losses and going back to Mazda
I just wish the side camera was on both sides of my car, it's so helpful!

thta's will be weird because when you turn left you will look right because the screen is in your right side
I think the reason why there is only right camera is because you might not be able to see a car or person in "front left" once you turn your eyes to the display which is on "right" side
Your left hand side isn’t your blind spot. The right hand side is your only blind spot and only side that needs the camera

Love my 18’ EX-T Cosmic Blue with Sensing. Car fits my needs perfectly and Sensing works flawlessly. Got less than a thousand miles on it and I’m averaging almost 44mpg mixed driving. My 3rd Civic and my favorite.

justin fuller what is the L below the S on the gear shift? (I’m coming from 20 yrs driving a stick. If forgotten what these letters are 😄)
S= Sport mode. L= lower gears. Such as 1st and 2nd gear.

Great Video! I love this car. The lane assist was great for my 1200 km trip and the brake assist for stop and go traffic or just regular driving is slick!
Forgot to mention my 1200 km trip came in at $89.00 Canadian dollars....not too shabby!

I love this feature on my civic touring. I’m just concerned about how much it brakes and when the brake lights come on. I don’t want people around me to think I don’t know how to drive or think I’m riding on the brakes too much cause the brake lights go on a lot.

Google maps and Waze is currently only available to Android users. Right now the only available map system for Iphone users is Apple maps.

Not through Honda. But you can get blind spot monitoring system installed that are aftermarket if you think you need something.

What happens if you turn up the temperature to 26 or 28 degree in a hot car in a summer day? Does the blower start blowing hot air or still blows cold air? Someone told me that car will not blow heat if it is already hot outside, as car play smart using it temperature sensor.
I am wondering in the case of losing breaks while driving, in the past there was a Hand Break which helps you to stop the car mechanically by raising up the Hand Break bit by bit to stop the car gradually, so how the driver can do that with the Push button Emergency Break?
You could down shift the car to L (lower gears)

Do you know if there's a way to play music from my phone while it is connected on Android auto? When I'm playing music using bluetooth and then connect my phone to open Waze, music stops...
You can definitely play music through Android Auto and run navigation at the same time. Instead of using the bluetooth option, you will want to run Spotify, Pandora, etc. through Android Auto. I think using the bluetooth option may be forcing you to pick one or the other.

Thwy are comparable if you are looking at the same trim - EX with Honda Sensing. The exception would be the Hatchback only comes in the 1.5 Turbo engine. The sedan offers the turbo and a 2.0L.

This review is on the sedan. I do have hatchback model reviews. All Civic EX and above models (Coupe, sedan, Hatchback) come with the 7 inch display touch screen.
Hi! please please tell me what the "0 to 80" horizontal line on the dashboard is??? It moves back and forth while driving. I've read the manual, watched videos, can't seem to get to the bottom of what it is--something to do with the fuel usage?? Help please!
I believe you are describing the instantaneous gas mileage gauge. It is letting you know that if you kept driving that same way in those conditions this would be the gas mileage.

You do have to put your foot on the brake to set it.

My question is when adp. cruise control on and the front car comes completely stop, will the car completely stop as well? Or the system will disable at certain low speed??
The Civic has low speed follow, which means it will bring you all the way to a complete stop. So it does not turn off at a certain speed.
justin fuller : So “low speed follow” is another option? Or is always comes with the adp. cruse control?
Low Speed Follow comes standard on this car.
First their is an alert (what you a re getting) and then following that it will start to apply the brakes. Hopefully you are not trying to test this to the point you get into an accident. If you want to make sure it works you can always check your adaptive cruise control. It uses the same radar and adjusts speed with braking accordingly.
If you have concerns that it is not working I would encourage you to go to a Honda dealership and have them look at it. Driving really close to other vehicles probably is not the best idea.

Honda Sensing is not offered as an accessory you can add to a car after the fact. You have to buy it built into the car.

Own a Honda Civic EX 2018, surprised that my side view mirrors do not fold in automatically, when turning off the engine. Always have to get out of the car to fold them.
there's a button on the right side on driving side that allows yoi to fold the side mirrors

If you are using Apple CarPlay just plug your phone into the USB and select the CarPlay button on the touch screen. From there you can pick your Nav app. If you are using Android Auto (download the app) then follow the same steps...
Hi Nice informative video, does it has blind spot detection.
It has Honda Lanewatch. A blind spot camera that turns on when you hit the right blinker or the button on the tip of the blinker stalk.
Does it have Speed Limit info/notification? (e.x. Speed limit is 60)
It does have a sign recognition system that will pick up the speed limit signs as you pass them and show them in the dash.

Honda Sensing is not something you can upgrade. You would be looking to trade in your vehicle then...

I know the Sport offers red in the gauges, however it is not a change you can make in the settings.

On the right side of the steering wheel you can select the menu screen. Toggle down to the menu option that shows MPH/KmH and you can change it.

Hmm!!! the 2017 ex hatchback model has a heated front seat and this new 2018 ex model dont have it.. i wonder why honda remove it on their newer model..
I am not sure. That is odd. Most all of my EX models across all lines have the heated seats now. Not sure on this?
The LX and EX base models don't have heated seats. The EX-T and EX-L and above have it.

Yes Lane Keep Assist will work at night.
I use the Honda sensing daily and the car drives itself pretty dang well on some well painted highways.
Maybe it can't see the lines on the road. Maybe you're not driving above 45 miles per hour. Maybe the turns are too sharp. Maybe you may need to take you car in to get inspected if it's not those things. There are a lot of factors, really.

The seats are not powered in the EX model. You would need to move up to the EXL model for a powered driver side seat.

So the DX models of the past were typically more basic models with maybe one or two things from a trim level above it. Now the Civic levels go: LX, EX, EX-T, EXL, and Touring in that order ascending. All models are available with and without Honda Sensing. The Touring comes with it standard.

Shivam Tech Helper currently the only way to use Google Maps as with an Android based phone. Android based phones have access to Google Maps and Waze. Currently Apple based phones only have access to Apple Maps.

All Honda Civics 2018 with the trim SE and above comes equipped with Honda sensing as standard. So EX comes equipped standard with Honda sensing if its 2018.
I suppose that would depend where you live Adnan. In the US there is no SE model, however all models offer it with and without. Depending on your country there are some differences.

Per a friend over at Apple here in Austin, Texas. In Sept. when there is a new IOS release you will have access to Waze and Google Maps.

Oh got you. I think it is because Honda does not sell nearly as many Coupes as they do sedans. Therefor they are not making as many trim levels of the car. You can always go with a sedan or Hatchback though!

Their stock speakers. They're enough for the average person but if you find yourself to be more of an audiophile you may want to replace them.
