Always nice to see indie developers collaborating in a big project like this. Lots of variety in the collection too, my favorite shown off here was the skiing game but they all had something going on in their favor.
I think holiday horror is one of the best types

Ahhhh, I loved the reindeer one. Any game where you get to play as a non-human animal is super neat in my eyes.

You might like Shelter! It's not horror, but you get to play as a mother animal (badger in the first one and lynx in the sequel) searching for her babies. The art style is really unique too, and it has great music.

Don't really get what the game at 7:55 is about.
A man recounts when he was a Kid, it is the last day he sees his mother, tries to see Santa and sees two mutilated men in Christmas garb instead.
One Man hurts him, the other man causes him to hear a knock at the door... Is this a story of him being kidnapped by Santa or something? Is it really just two murderers breaking in and killing his mum, why did they let him survive? Hmmm

Honestly, I interpreted it as maybe the dad coming home drunk (based on how he moves) and the kid thinking its Santa...and then he gets violent (or something worse). I mainly base this off another CZcamsrs video (as this didn't appear in Manlys one), where the man answers to "What did you do then?" with "...I promised not to tell anyone..."
That and it didn't really seem to matter, what you choose...
But then again, I could be totally way off. Since it wouldn't really explain what happened to the mother.
@@sink4807 Also doesn't explain why there were two men there... well, unless he had two dads, it's really very progressive.
It would kind of explain the mothers fate, as an abandoned abusive father would certainly murder the mother, and the interview at the beginning is likely a police questioning.
I will say the lines at the end being randomised (which is what I'm gathering) is a poor choice, this isn't a game you'd play more than twice, so the story is completely obscured through this gameplay/narrative choice.

I love the idea of litterally ripping a hole through space and time. Especially in a horror or suspense game! I'd love to see this kind of idea used in other games. It think it's a great way to explore distorted memories and invite the player to feel like they are actually traveling rather then just watch a memory unfold. Ripping also makes me feel like I'm actively working to try and run away or leave a situation with a purpose. Love it!
7:50 - Mother Christmas
From what I can tell from these scenes alone, it looks like the child has remembered two scenarios of the mother on that one horrific night. One is angry (right-side) and the other is calm (left-side).
I'm guessing after the child called out to her, the mother finds him and she either got mad for seeing her and staying up late that night (right-side), or simply steadily approached him (left-side).
Depending on what ending transpires, the person who is knocking on the door could either be the police (right-side) or an intruder (left-side). Because in the end, the mother died no matter what, despite the fact he only mentions the knocking from the left-side ending.
Definitely the most wonderful time of the year. I wasn't ready for how nostalgic that old PC startup sound and look would be.
The first game was probably a reference to Skifree, a Microsoft game where the player infinitely slid down a hill while trying to avoid yetis.

SkiFree is one of those games you put in the back of your mind cause they scarred you as a kid, and when you see tributes like this, the flashbacks come back to haunt your nightmares. Ah, the beauty of early (unintendedly scary) PC games.

Having to find all those presents would be the most unbearable thing of all.
I actually think that 5:55 is one of the most genuine scare moments that Manly had.

The reason rip had so much ball pit is simple, it's because Ball pits are currently the only thing in recorded history proven to already rip through space and time.
