I currently have a Cowboy in my solo campaign, and he's a lot of fun to play, quite versatile as a melee and ranged fighter, with some nice upgrades, too. The lasso is fun to use.
Hello Daniel ! If SoB woudn't cost that much I would absolutly be chasing for every lettle piece I could cause this game seems so cool ! Are you planning to make a let's play like you did with Warhammer ? I told you some time ago that I was working on a Warhammer quest style mod for Descent V2. Here is the link : boardgamegeek.com/filepage/218519/descent-quest For now it's all in french but the cards with the tiles numbers are playable in any language. It was fun to wrote a little story for the campaign mod with no specification for the bad guys (cause they are drawn randomly) and the heroes (choose by the player).
@@TheDungeonDive I definitely like the option. I bought alt gender character minis because I dont want players to feel limited on genders when the boards show both.
Totally! It's super cool that FFP offers up those options for people who want them. Representation is something I talk about quite a bit on the channel. It's super important.
My only complaint with this game so far is that all of the Native characters look like white people in cosplay. Haven't looked at the Eastern art as closely but am expecting the same thing. Also, not sure but it seems that there are no Black people whatsoever?
I totally agree. The eastern stuff doesn't bother me as much. I wish there were other POC in the game as well. There sure as hell were black cowboys. I just kind of have to buy into the pulp nature. I think the newest expansion set with the conquistadors is in really poor taste, as they are the "heroes," and basically invading the swamps. I was really hoping for an expansion where all of the heroes were tribal people protecting their land from the evil outsiders.
@@TheDungeonDive Happy to agree here. Same reason I will never pick Lizzie Borden in Death May Die. I am not attracted to the Vikings either. I will certainly be painting a few choice characters with dark skin in spite of the card art. Actually, what would be SUPER cool is if someone on BGG just made alt card art for characters to add multiple POC and some better renditions of Native Americans.
The cowboy is a fantastic character to play! And if you have two of them, they can both lasso and really control a larger monster

The trouble with Reaper replacements is that they are pretty small compared to normal SOB figs.
big props for showing female sumo, so many forget female sumo were a thing - they deserve credit too.
I'm really glad that they include gender options for every hero. I have first hand experience with players that this kind of thing matters.
The Drifter and Gambler are nice, too.
Trederran Veteran is a kickstarter exclusive FYI. I have loved this series.
Was the Vet an exclusive? I couldn't quite remember.
@@TheDungeonDive Yes, and the Sumo, too.
Cool thanks.
This is a weird thought, but your synthy openings remind me of watching old PBS shows as a kid.
That’s what they’re emulating. That at VHS jingles from the early 80s. :)
@@TheDungeonDive Well you definitely succeeded! All these videos using the jingle always bring me back to childhood in such a pleasant, nostalgic way.
Great! It was my hope to tap into that nostalgia, since nostalgia is such an important part of gaming for me.
I was waiting for a tom baker or david tennant mini for the doctor. That would probably call for a new character card or 2 or 13.
I haven't laminated any character sheets. There are appropriately-sized card sleeves out there for them, instead.
Nice!
Any experience with the hexcrawl variant? I would love to see a video on that.
Wait a day or two. :)
Talking about expansion heroes. What are your favourite heroes overall? (:

Nowadays you could end the search for minis, get rid of the old versions and buy the new ones, they now have proper minis of really good quality.
The idea of a "canonical" gender in a game like this is a bit silly
Glad we have the option to choose, though. It’s at least a half step in the right direction. FFP is pretty good at giving us options.

I do have to give the Frogs some props for including different genders for each hero. I think that's pretty great.
@@TheDungeonDive Oh, certainly, they have taken a good first step, they should take another.
