I do always think that you need to invest in a decent tool set. At the very least, a Ratchet. I’ve had the halfords advanced tool set for over 6 years now and it’s invaluable and comes with a lifetime warranty.Combine that with a decent set of handled Allen keys, torque wrench and other bits, and you’ll be laughing and no longer struggling. Keep up the good work dude!

I had visions of the tank getting scratched or dinged when you were having problems with the bar end mirrors, I always covet the tank & painted parts when there's a chance of slipping etc, also always take your watch off, saves the chance of any accidental damage, bit over the top maybe but I've learnt from previous gaffes 👌

A good little tip which does use the grab handle, is buying a bicycle rear light from Wilkinson that flashes alternately or just on, so if you are unlucky enough to break down or get a puncture in a unlit road you will still have rear lights, as it does not seem possible to have lights with ign switched off (Wilco light fits in mins to grab bar)

Two things for me in this install I would have done differently. I would always cover the tank when working on the handle bar area. Sometimes, I even cover the front fender as I have made expensive mistakes as the spanner or socket drops free and onto the metal painted bits. Also, you could have pulled out the factory bar weights by attaching the factory screw back into the weights, then using a large pair of pliers or crescent wrench to provide a solid piece to hammer against using a dead blow mallet against to drive out the screw/bar weights. Then use the new bar end/weight as it was designed.
Good video though, with good content. Looking forward to see your transformation of the RE. Cheers from Arkansas.

A good habit to get in to is, every time you take a bolt out or nut off add some anti seize grease before you put it back. (Or if it was threadlocked, replace the threadlock.). It makes life so much easier further down the line. I'm interested to see how the scamblerize project evolves as I was contemplating one of the new Norton Rangers but can't really justify the cost of one as a second bike. This may be a more wallet friendly option.

Good evening Mr Flyer. I'm looking at the TEC bar end mirrors for my Inter too. They have a good vid that might help you eliminate that gap and make them more rigid. Looking at the bar end weight and the end of the handlebar they are half-recessed so that they fit together without spinning. TEC recommend that you get busy with a file for a minute or two and do this to the part they supply. That will close up the gap and help stop anything moving. Good vid though. When will we see you actually riding it, and when will you tell us about those aftermarket pipes (did I miss it?). Keep up the good work.

One thing to check when changing the levers is the up and down movement. With a proper bush arrangement there should be no up or down movement or play. So many standard levers have way too much play in the up and down direction, indicating poor tolerances. A good reference is normally the levers on a BMW. These always seem to be precise with very little play.
Just a thought, can the mirrors be mounted below the bars for a cleaner look. Not sure if you would be able to see behind in this arrangement but it works on some bikes.

Mirrors confuse me...says the man who flies a plane lol, I always place an old towel over the tank when doing anything with the handlebars as a precaution, looking good, Tec mufflers as well?

TEC Bike parts do produce quality accessories.
Good to see your honesty in letting the viewers know that the accessories were given to you, as there are a few motorcycle CZcamsrs I use to watch who have now turned into Social Media Influencers and allowing viewers to think they have been out and bought parts, accessories, tools etc. No doubt the lure of money and the thought giving up the mundane day job has turned them into snake oil salesmen. Surely CZcams should make it compulsory that youtubers declare free gifts,
I follow a channel called Double Boost and when John does a reviews he is always dead honest and declares that the tool was given to him and when people use the affiliate links he is paid a small commission
    Great new website

Nice work TMF - the Interceptor looks great. Recently put a set of Puig bar ends on my Ducati Scrambler. First in an upright position which looked good then flipped them to an underneath position a couple days ago and now they look great. Mind you they don't work as well but I always check my 6 when maneuvering anyway. BTW - I've noticed a guitar hanging up in some of your vids. Do you do your own background music?

Have to say though you gave a thumbs up for the parts, those bar end mounts for the mirrors are clearly not made specifically for that bike. If they were they would have had a milled base to match the groove on the bars that they could not fill. They look nice and I'm sure will last well, and for a freebie it's fine but had I paid for anodised alloy parts like that I'd be wanting a better fit 🤷🏻‍♂️

It's good to have a toy to tinker with and change things to one's liking, I watch you Vid and like it. I may do what you do to your interceptor if I buy one. . Keep up the good work. With thanks

Hello TMF loving the MODS.. the bar ends worked out ok.. But what may make your life easier later is the fact that if you had simply wound back the allen head screw with the key and tapped the allen screw back into the bar it would have pushed the wedge shaped cone inside the bar end, which causes the aluminium bit that you were thinking of filing down to expand and grip the inside of the bar then the whole thing would pull out. I'm sure that if you look at the one that came with the mirror you will get the idea. But they'd on as it is and they won't go anywhere. I'm sure that many people will inform you about this but it is one in the memory bank for later..Best regards

Very nice ..even I the pureist think the tek(Tec, ?) parts are well made and functional as well as asthetically pleasing ..so they must be good !.
A bit of blue thread lock on the bar end mirrors and a touch of copper grease on the grab rail bolts will see you well in the future .
Looking forward to the further scramblerisation .
Peace and love young Mr Flyer 👍🏻☮❤

Nice videoTMF, i would say that not grinding the lugs off, where the sissy bars go, is a better idea, you might want to put them back on if you sell the bike at some stage.

If Tec Bike Parts did a solo half length seat, and a small aluminium carrier to replace the pillion seat, I think that would look better than the Triumph Street Scrambler.

Beware of aftermarket clutch levers when adjusted on the longest or shortest pull setting (I forget which one). Sometimes they don't activate the inhibitor switch fully and the bike won't start. Don't ask how I know. However, they do double up as an immobiliser :-D
