I know nothing about linux, so I'm really sorry for my questions.
What Linux OS? I'm trying to use linux to make a tablet for live music play, So I will use Reaper ONLY as VST host (No recording, no editing). I want to install kontakt + Delay VST + Reverb VST ONLY. The tablet will be offline (No internet, no other software) so I do not want anything, just a clean machine with reaper and 3 VSTs.
I do not wnat to use any external sound cards, I will use the built in Realtik.
What is the best setup in my case?
Hi
If you want to start out with Linux and you have no experience with Linux in general, i would recommend to use ZORIN OS.
It is made for former Windows user and is Ubuntu based. I have made already a tutorial for that.
Apps of interest:
.) Timeshift = system Backup Tool
.) Bottles = a Windows Container to install Windows Apps into.
.) Wine = Another Windows Container to install Yabridge into.
.) Yabridge = a bridging programm between windows(.vst; .vst3; clap; etc) files into a Linux host.
.) Pipewire = The Linux Audiodriver
.) Qjackctl = the GUI for Pipwire.
What is your hardware?
