  • The Chairperson of The South African Institute of International Affairs, Moeletsi Mbeki says the DA is correct that there has to be proportionality in the allocation of the cabinet seats in the Gauteng's legislature. This after the DA showed discontentment with the ANC's decision to give the party three seats out of ten and keep six seats and the premier. The DA says there should be proportionality as the ANC does not have the outright majority in the province. The party says the election results between the ANC and the DA are not too different.

It is indeed funny in a macabre way how much effort we waste on our prejudices, but it's also completely understandable given our history. I think GNU is great, we've had 30 years to adjust. Now it's time to grow up, stop squabbling now and get this economy moving. I just hope it doesn't take us 30 years to grow up because that is a real possibility.

Mr Mbeki, the problem is that those who claim to represent the poor like the EFF, MK, Cosatu, and SACP don't actually serve them well and in most cases are only there for their own enrichment. Their policies are also counterproductive to actual upliftment without suppressing or disenfranchising others. Envy and racism are both sins.
