Just hiked this today. Not a very good first hike of the season... It was a little rough, but I got it done. Didn't have the weather you did though. It was scattered showers. While on the summit a pretty nasty wave of weather was rolling in and it cut my time on the top to only a few minutes before I felt I needed to start down. Of course, about 30 min later it was nice and sunny. Still very muddy and slick up top. All in all it was very challenging given the conditions, but the view of the various storms from the top was great. I snapped some great pics. I still made great time at 6 hours total up and down trip. Watched your vid last night because I was going the same route and wanted some landmarks because its the first time Ive done giant and I was solo. great vid and happy trails!

Yeah, the view from the top is pretty spectacular, as long as there is no lightning! For early season break-in hikes, I try to chose less vertical but still great views (like Lyon Mtn last year). Thanks for watching, and have a great season!

I'm actually about to hike it tomorrow, they're calling for clear skys and a high of 67 so it should be great. Looking forward to a pretty good hike.

It's a real nice hike, and I would consider dangling my feet in the brook back at the base! Have fun!

vtboomer If you're going for the 46 (or might someday), the side trip to Rocky Peak can be done in 1.5-2 hours(r/t).

That's what I've been told! I can't wait. But I definitely will, and I'm gonna take the roaring brook trail up then knock off the rocky peak. I'm hoping to complete all 46, this will be my first
