@@rosemcqueenuknew2985 Okay, but I shouldn't be laughing at that..
sirens are so misunderstood. they’re always called evil mermaids but what if they are lonely that’s why they sing. having such a somber tone in their voice, it’s their call of grief. every time a person gets lured in by her voice, they understand her loneliness for they are lonely, too. once they come, the siren has found a person when they’ve been lonely for years. her excitement makes her act before thinking. she brings them to the sea to be her company. but she doesn’t understand that humans can’t breathe underwater so she’s known for drowning instead of just wanting a soul to be with. once she figures out they died, she immediately starts singing with grief, putting the body with the others, hoping they come back to see her again. until then, she always has a song of grief
I love this sm

imagine a siren, but she's sad because she doesn't understand humans will drown underwater. So every time she tries to save someone they end up dying.
That’s an interesting way to look at from the sirens perspective if the siren in question isn’t evil but like you said doesn’t understand our anatomy
Nah, she probably just wants to eat. If she is that smart to understand loneliness and sadness, she can understand that a person is drowning by his expression.
Yea, but apparently sirens are much smarter, and sirens don't usually come up to the surface, so that means theyre natural habit at is deep down in the océan, and the deeper u go the pressure gets stronger so that means sirens have very dense bones which will make them very strong. Like all other Animals they learn to fight for theyre life, which can mean that theyre warriors in water........

I now its so nice I really want to be a siren
thats exactly what its supposed to do actually, sirens’ song was intended to lure out lustful and impure sailors.
The first ever "written" story of sirens (not mermaids) there were two sirens who would feast on unlucky sailors in Greek lore. Later they were given a physical description, sharing a similar appearance to the Harpy, with the heads and torso of beautiful women and everything else was bird like. Then later, more were added and they were all made into Persephone's 8 handmaidens and given names, turned into sirens as punishment. Over time they got mixed in with merfolk and now just basically "evil mermaids".
In Ancient Greek mythology sirens were women with the body of a bird. Look it up, it’s quite interesting how their image has been twisted.
@@jellyfish6794 Yes, I'm aware...that's why if you read what I said- " sharing a similar appearance to the Harpy, with the heads and torso of beautiful women and everything else was bird like."

I've always felt the same way about the stars, a different kind of sea. The twinkling stars, the countless worlds and wonders beyond imagination. Perhaps, I wasn't originally from this world but placed here to live as a Human. I want to go home😪
I want to go back to my siren life to I want to go... home.
I might be able to live that life again I had a past life as a siren I might have it as another
A dark sky, a dark sea and a lamp lit ship.
The sea tossed and turned, churning like an empty stomach dying for a taste of something greater. Men rejoiced on the ship, drinking their cheap rums and staining their cut-seamed clothing. They sang sea shanties, danced and drank.
Tonight's dark night sky was a beautiful one. The moon, if not larger than they'd ever seen before, set the sea alight in beauty. Once the parties had calmed and some of the drunken had tired, all was peaceful again.
If one sailor had wandered to the edge, rum in hand and arms folded over the decked edge of the ship, he would hear the faint humming of a woman. Though he could not see her, the beauty of her voice told him enough. Taking his own liberties (in worry, who know's what woman could've been lost at sea?), he steered the ship in the direction of her soft voice.
Her voice neared, and whilst the sailor strained to see the sight of her face, he did not hear the shouting of his crew mates. "Siren!" They'd called in a panic, but he was mesmerized. Dare I say..Hypnotized?
Her face finally shone in the night. Pale skin, possibly a faint blue color, long black hair, and eyes as blue as the Hawaiian oceans. "Come," She sang, reaching a hand out to him. "Come to me!"
The sailor, in the depths of his mind cried 'No!', but he could not stop himself. He threw himself into the churning sea and swam. The siren gazed down at him with an unimpressed look, the look of disappointment. How *weak* could he possibly be?
Scaled hands grasped at his ankles and dragged him down into the deep salty darkness whilst the siren sang unstopping. She peered up at the boat. A man, a beautiful one at that, stared down at her with a stone hard face. "Come," She sang, reaching a hand out to him. "Come to me!"
The beautiful man glanced at her hand for not even a moment, and turned his back to her. "I will not come to you, trickster mermaid. Go back to your underwater caves and leave us!" He shouted, staring in the opposite direction of her. The siren, taken aback, flared her nostrils and dove back into the ocean.
Who is this man?
Whose poem Is It?
It is brilliant !!

Imagine becoming a creature with captivating beauty, and an alluring voice. That’s a dream right there.
When I was little I thought if you stayed in the water for an hour you would turn into a mermaid.... Yeah I almost drowned 😂
keep on trying and see what will happen
Sirens are incredible. Nothing in any media is alike them, so simple, yet complex and philosophical.
Some see them as evil, others predators, and others, tragic, cursed victims. I think the most logical and likely case, is they are predators, but this has so much weight, as do the others.
You hear their song, beautiful and enchanting. So beautiful, that it becomes personal. You craft it’s meaning. You hear it. Feel it. And it attracts you to approach. Whether it be a shared feeling of loneliness, sadness, or even happiness to some, you approach.
What everyone hears is personal to them and them alone.
For me, I feel...Warmth...Welcome...I feel as though, despite all the worlds problems, all it’s beauties, my worries, my life, it’s all okay now. I feel the one singing understands me, and I understand them. I feel, like I’ve arrived at my destination, or like it didn’t matter if I did, because I am here now, and I am content.
I feel, at peace, but not simply calm. At peace, with everything. I feel the world around fade and flow away in the chorus, like the waves surrounding and washing over us.
That is how the song makes me feel, but what makes the Sirens so impactful to me, is the sheer sadness, that all these feelings are not as grand and innocent as it convinces me they are. That they are not benevolent and welcoming, nor warm and safe. They are a hunting tune. A creature looking to feed themselves. And I suppose there is a beauty in that, but one that is both cruel, and kind.
It is cruel because the world that developed around you, around your mind like the water around your body, surrounding you in a warm cocoon. A womb of safety. Is destroyed, not quickly, but slowly, as the song falls, and you realise your fate. That this is your end, and your feelings were false.
But, at the same time, they are kind. No others meet their end experiencing such deeply personal, not just beautiful, but warm melodies. Most others meet it calmly, or cruelly, or quickly.
But here, no matter how false, you are able to feel safe. And if the Siren simply drowns you, rather than consumes you to end your life, then that feeling persists until your heart beats it’s last. If you think about it like that, Sirens are the kindest predators that exist. Giving their prey not just something to calm them or incapacitate them like many others who would simply paralyse their prey, the Sirens give them peace, and on a deep, personal, and even spiritual level.
It doesn’t matter if what you feel may be false, and heartbreaking. If you are to meet your end to a predator, I would rather it be with the comforting lies.
The Sirens described in a more innocent sense, as lonely, misunderstood creatures, are fine too. And it’s not only expected to want to feel that way, but perfectly fine. They are enchanting and beautiful, and you don’t want such a thing to be dark and malicious. You don’t want it to be evil, or a lie.
You want it to be real. To be real forever.
The belief of their innocence retains, at least some, of that good, benevolent feeling towards them, and it does make sense as a plausible theory.
Some Sirens sing to lure, and once you are close, change to hideous monsters and try to consume you. Some Sirens sing to lure, to make you feel happy. To make you feel like you aren’t alone, anymore. For you are with them, and they are with you. That you have a friend now. A lover. Your lover. You don’t need anything else now. Your quest is complete. Your goals washed away with the waves peacefully.
But all creatures need to eat. Perhaps for the Siren she must eat sentient creatures. And to give them the best end she can, as efficiently as she is able, she sings a beautiful song.
Or perhaps, they do this not for food, but for something more sinister. Something dark. To give their prey, those who hear them, the greatest sense of joy and peace that they have experienced, to rip it away, and end their lives.
Each are heartbreaking in their own sense, whether the tragedy is on her, you, or everyone.
I personally love Sirens, as made apparent. They are unlike anything else anywhere, and I believe they sing to hunt, and perhaps set their prey at ease.
All are wonderful in their own unique way.
Thanks for reading, dear reader : )

A few members of my family and I were headed to a lake that resided 2 hours away from where we lived. We just went there to chill, be in nature and take a breather from everything. The lake was inclosed by a forest and was fairly big actually. However, when we got there we heard a beautiful song in the distance... it was something singing. We didnt know what it was or who it was but it sounded exactly like this and wasnt very consistant. My aunt thought it was an otter because it was the only thing in sight, but i still believe that we caught our fair share of what could have been a siren singing... when i heard the singing i had this extreme earge to run away but also go into the water because of how calm it was. I wanted to be in the water with what this was.. i also felt this heavey feeling of wanting to just drift into the middle and sink, where I could feel my lungs slowly fill with the lightly fogged lake water. Even if this is real or fake siren can be dangerous there music make ships crash and people drown but thats only the bad sirens
Dude, come on. Sirens definitely don't exist. It's just a fantasy, a myth created by humans. Yes, it's interesting, but still, not real.
All the kids I knew growing up wanted to be mermaids or sirens but me at 7 years old wanted to be the most deadliest siren ever. Hopefully in another life I can be a siren in a clean ocean not the horrible ones today. Maybe one day I will be my forever lost dream. Even a bit now being a siren would be beautiful.
I am a believer that once or still sirens exist. I have a strong connection with all water and when I hear singing or even if it not even siren music I feel the urge to go swimming. 80% of the ocean has not been found. There could be so many. I wish I could join them. You can hear the feeling in their voices it's a Sighn of sadness and lonely ness and grief. But also excitement. I want to be forever swimming.
Y'know, thinking about it, I live near a shit ton of lakes and ponds and water sources. What if I got a bluetooth speaker and hid it somewhere among the rocks on a beach and played siren songs-? I high key want a house on the beach or at least to rent one for a while when I'm an adult and this would be amazing.
Sirens, not the weirdest thing you were tasked with studying, beautiful, hypnotic...often times vampyric. You faced worse though, you were an agent after all, they don't send anyone on a mission unless qualifications met. You met her, she claimed her name was Soe, apparently it means something important in her language, you didn't know what, but you weren't really too bothered by it either. You kneel down and spoke to her as you begin asking her questions for your "Job", during which she would occasionally hum and sing a strange song... she said it calmed her, you acknowledged this and allowed her to have these moments of personal melody.
Eventually you asked her something that really struck a nerve, her skin grew pale and her eyes slit like a cats and they went from the green basic to the deep red of blood. She panicked as she revealed her true image and swam underneath the surface, but after an hour of waiting on the boat you sailed in, she resurfaces and shows signs of heavy crying, you felt bad, you didn't mean to make her sad. She asked "Why... Why did you ask about those creatures?" to which you replied "Many others like you refer to them... what are they?" but she was choked up by just knowing of their existence... She eventually tells you her story.
"They came from nowhere... They destroyed everything... My home... my family... the worst part... I was far from the only one... There were so many worlds above and below yours ruined by these nightmares that take form... If you can forget about them... Do it!... They thrive off of knowledge and will spread chaos as they please...They are the Fallen...They are death in the form of an army..."
You stand up and explain to her why you asked her this question, you weren't sure about your agencies ability to combat such threats, but your group was more capable than others, besides, the agency didn't strive to destroy things they don't know, they strive to preserve it and the knowledge of anything unusual... These things turned Atlantis like cities into deserts, Fill Dwarven mines in lava, and burn down Elven forests... These tyrants must be stopped...
You inform her that her family will be avenged and you leave her... she sings her song again... Only this time... Your name is mentioned constantly through out it... Is she doing this as a thanks for someone finally standing up?...or as Respect for the bravery you display by practically guaranteeing a grim fate...one worse than death itself.

it scares and fascinates. something truly indescribable.
I've always loved the water growing up, and listening to this makes me feel like I want to go back and its home. This is Beautiful and calming. When she sings, it sounds like she's sad and longing for healing and understanding. It saddens me, but everything that worries me doesn't anymore. I can't explain it. The waves crashing around her are chaotic, while her voice is angelic. It'll be cool to be a siren, but I wouldn't want to harm anyone.
The oldest tale of the Siren is pretty sad. Having been cursed to the depths of the ocean to
suffer loneliness. They sang from the despair they were feeling but should mortal ears
hear them and lose interest in finding them in the vast waters, they would die. So the siren
would desperately try to sing the mortals to them. Never knowing if one was listening.
I found it from a comment😅
This makes me miss the sea. I probably wont be able to go back for a few years. The one thing I hate about the sea is how much garbage I picked up when the tide was at its lowest point. The favorite thing about the sea is how free I feel when I'm near it.

YES I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS
Very thankful I found this, well technically this found me! I love sirens so much, since a child even. Thank you.
I'm writing a story about sirens 😊 gonna put this in my playlist
Ahhhhhhh i love this as well! Also do you think you can link me to your story so i can read it? Its alright if not
@@limitless_lagging it's called Brave the Waters on AO3! 🥰 I started it three years ago so the writing st the beginning is iffy. 😅
Sounds great!
The world is mysterious who knows, but i really believe that they exist.
I feel the power
If i were a siren. I would like to choose black as my main color that faded into little white in the end. I would be the one who would choose the deepest part of the ocean, stay there and rarely going up.
this is extremely calming!
So happy that you like my video
This is lovely isn’t it?
The gesture of their sounds make their victims fall into the wrong sense of security.. pity was it not; the last thing you'll hear are the sounds of what you long for after searching the seas..... drifting across your imagination of such voice.. of how you'd wished you see their beautiful faces only to come across your demise..
Thats, how sirens seem to be interpreted with their lures of satisfaction for men.. longing the seas cause such imaginations you'd expect a crazy person to think about.. it is in time of which you believe in them or not.. their formal physical form is something not many expect of a person.. or like a siren...... they also long over the ocean seeking for what they seem wanting to achieve.. they may not wish harm but harm wishes to bring you to them... your fate decides that....... but you control yourself.
(Lol what did I typed-)
I love this. So beutiful, and ethereal, and enchanting. I write fantasy novels, and I find this very inspiring to listen to while I'm writing, it really gets me in the imaginative zone.

"I was so young when I heard their song... I wasn't drawn to it, I remembered it, i remember when i was just a baby, My mother would bring me to the cove, This song... its a Piece of me, when i hear them sing i feel the urge to sing back, I can feel the sadness in the song, the same sadness i felt when my mother passed away.... Each day i that i go back the more i feel like, Maybe im one of them, a Siren Hybrid born of a Siren mother and a Human father, and each night i have these dreams about the sea... Im one of them... aren't I?"

A cold, stormy night on this ship...
1876, many passengers were seasick, some dying from disease, others having a great night drinking rum and singing old songs passed on from family to family. Though the ones dancing were only men, they had a great time. singing "America here we come! We come!" taking another sip of rum the captain ordered the men to bed. The men were mad, wanted to drink and dance longer into the night. The captain told them there was always tomorrow and they best hurry because the cold stormy waves were growing too large and soon will flood the first deck of the ship: where the men were enjoying their festivities was the first deck. The men sighed and cleaned up their messes and headed back to bed to find their wives asleep. The caption noticed one man left a full unopened bottle of rum out so the caption took it to the captions deck for "safekeeping" Once the captain got to the captain's deck he placed the bottle on the table next to the controls, he told himself to keep it till tomorrow but the feeling of needing to drink it was eating him alive. He walked back to the table and slowly released the cap from the small glass bottle. Just then as he was about to pour himself a glass he heard the soft, enchanting, dare I say hypnotizing hum of a woman. He finds it beautifully creepy, he calls out "Whose there?!" He looks around inside the captain's deck but soon realizes she is not in there. "It must be one of the men's wives." He goes back to his rum and pours himself a small glass. After a few minutes he heard the hum again but this time it was.. stronger, more powerful you could say. He felt some sort of a desire to find this voice. He walked outside the deck and called out "Where are you, my love?" No answer arose. He walked to the edge of the ship, sadly looking at the water wishing he know where the voice was coming from. The voice then sang out "I'm here my love, in the water. Just in and we can be together." He was in love, completely hypnotized. In over his head, head over heels in love with this creature he hasn't even seen yet. He yelled, "But where are you?" "I'm here my love, waiting for you." The voice exclaimed. Without a doubt, he jumped into the crashing, cold, and stormy waves. Salty and scary. Strong and powerful. The voice sang "You fool, you shouldn't have done that." The captain was confused but couldn't talk with the salty seawater stuffing his mouth. The voice came out of the shadows and showed herself, a siren. She sang "Time to go my jolly sailor bold~" The caption was scared, confused, but most of all betrayed. The siren grabbed him by the ankles her beautiful long black hair touching his cold skin. She pulled him under the water, his lungs filled with h20, Drowning. His lungs were on fire, burning. Then it was black, nothing. It was over.
Sorry for such a long comment I just wanted to write a story! ❤

This is hypnotizing I get chilled and as euphoric relaxation while listening to this
If I heard this while sailing, I'd totally dive underwater and die. I feel bad for for sirens and mermaids. They don't have an eternal soul, like humans do. When they die, they die. They live 2000 years and that's it. This is so scary and sad!
I love this so enchanting i have a sudden want to go swimming and just float on my back and close my eyes
Anyone:if you could have any super power what would you have?
Me: The Ability To Breathe Under Water
Them: but you could have anything like immortality or flight why?
Me: Because I Love Swimming And The Feeling You Get When You Are Floating Under Water In The Deep Silence Of The Water I Wish I Could Stay It It Gor Longer So That Is Why
@@imboredhowaboutyou8510 i could NEVER agree more, i would love to have the powrr to do that :')
Im now listening to this at 3am
I almost hear words that aren't there....
Come down to me beneath the sea to lie beneath forever more the darkness silence beneath the waves trap me here till one shall come and set me free oh come beneath to set me free of this curse that hits me harder than the waves upon the land faster now that tide is high come and set me free for were land and see meet might the curse break upon the third hour come to me were land and sea meet to set me free. the time is done now all is lost and now you must be lost also
I found that song, when I was writting a sad moment in my book and it was perfect for this moment. (Sorry for my bad english I'm from germany)
I am glad if it helps !
Hope your book comes out a top seller...

Oh my, this song is giving me tears . . . . . I can't stop crying
This really inspires me to write! To be honest, lately I have no motivation to write my novel...
But such music... It's so magical, beautiful and... I don't know how to describe these feelings... Thank you so much for this!
So beautiful.. I'd love to see the faces of the singers and tell them how good they sou-
This is so nice! It makes me feel calm and I get tingles in my back!
wow! Nine months later and I found my way back here! Sill in love with the song, mermaids and sirens!
Now ten months, crazy I've been in love with sirens, mermaids, and the sea for nearly a year now!!
I've come back and it's been a full year, crazy I always find my way back to sirens and the sea.
Thank you for this gift. It is a beautiful Lament. It helps me understand how our natural and instinctual grieving and mourning processes have been dis-integrated, de-humanised, pathologised and commercialised by and within modern civilisation. Plato also comments on this phenomenon.
Thank you Divine Soul Friend for sharing your Light, you are beautiful and perfect. We are so grateful to connect with you now. We wish you infinite blessings of Love and Light🙏❤️
"Ian put down the pudding cup"
"Well lookie here, it's the love birds."
"I used to go by Kai."
...
"O' broken hearted one, your soul has grown weary."
"Ophelia, there's someone waiting for you back there."
I want this voice
Now I understand why sailors were captivated by sirens. Such beauty and beautiful songs.
I just love sirens so much they are so beautiful yet deadly and I like it
