- On March 27, 1985, mere days before Wrestlemania, Hogan and Mr. T appeared on a TV talk show. The host (comedian Richard Belzer), continually requested Hogan to try wrestling moves on him. Hogan was hesitant and even warned Belzer that the floor was hard and he might get hurt, but the crowd wanted to see it..so Hogan used a front chin lock on Belzer who passed out within seconds. According to Belzer, Hogan had told him to let him know if the hold was too much, and while he did signal to Hogan that he was suffocating, the Hulkster did not detect it as he was busy chatting with his tag-team partner. Belzer then tumbled to the ground, and his head hit the floor with a loud crack, leaving Hulk Hogan looking somewhat disconcerted as Belzer was legitimately unconscious and was not moving. A few moments later, the host eventually recovered consciousness. He cut to a commercial when he was up and staggered off. The wound on his head was constantly leaking blood. Richard Belzer did not return after the commercial break ended, and Hogan apologized to the people watching. Belzer then sued Hogan for personal injury. The case was held at the New York Supreme Court, and while Belzer and Hogan reached an out-of-court settlement. With the money, Belzer bought a farmhouse in France and named this property Chez Hogan.

Belzer is such a punk. He instigates the whole thing and sues. He’s being snarky the entire interview.
He's a comedian and an actor. He was keeping things light. Terry took it too far, and 'T' was being fake tough guy. Part of the fake wrestling is advertising and doing talk shows. 'T' sure has changed his mindset over the years.

Richard was trying to tap hulk hogan to let him know to let up but Richard passed out. Anyway if hulk hogan and Mr T didn't like what was going on the show they should of walked off the show.

Belzer gave Hogan his own neck without defending himself so Hogan could demonstrate a basic pro wrestling move, then Hogan choked out Belzer with a real MMA style choke hold. Hogan lied about what he was going to do and he took advantage of someone who he should've protected. Everyone knows pro wrestling is fake. I've been a fan since I was 12 years old and I knew it was fake the first time I watched it when The Rock threw himself into the air and bounced around the ring after getting stunned by Stone Cold. They're not trying to knock out or choke out their "opponent", Pro Wrestling is a Kung Fu Soap Opera. It's choreographed fight scenes and storylines. Hogan intentionally hurt Belzer in an attempt to make himself look like a real badass fighter, but all he did was take advantage of someone who trusted him. It's really hard not to hate Hogan, he's such a dipshit. I hope Belzer got yacht money for that.
Belzer got what he deserved. But hey he is a winner too. He bled a little blood and got to buy a house in France.

I’m not condoning what Hogan did, a trained professional wrestler should never take advantage of someone like that…I have a friend who wrestles and he would not even put me in a hold because I’m not trained…BUT…In my opinion, Belzer absolutely brought it on himself!…he asked for it and he got it!
