Loved this series. I’ve read that it was expensive to produce and the viewership didn’t justify the expense. However, Netflix hit a grand slam in terms of quality.

not their fault. Fincher didn't want to continue after he made "Mank". was supposed to be 5 seasons. Fincher said it's too much for him to do because he so closely coordinates all of it which is evident in the first 2 seasons which are imo perfect and amazing.

Emmy and the Globes prefer to nominate the mediocre Stranger Things over this. Whenever Fincher makes a film, he’s always an expected contender at the Oscars, so when he started making TV shows (House of Cards), Netflix finally landed a huge industry acclaimed show for the first time, and House of Cards despite not winning (it was against GoT, Breaking Bad, Mad Men), was nominated in a lot of categories. But Mindhunter received nothing but 2 nominations, 1 for cinematography, and 1 for guest acting. Fincher would rather do projects that gives him accolade, which is fair tbh
I- they filmed some of the show 5 minutes away from me and the rest of the show 35 minutes away. (I live in a VERY small town so everyone knows everything basically.) My bus went past it everyday and I had no clue Jonathan was in this wHY
This was intelligent, perceptive, challenging and surprising. I was thinking about this for weeks afterwards. No need to be a psychology graduate (or a historian) to find this interesting.
Now, if they can turn these 3 main characters into an X-files reboot, or continuation.... id be all for it. i just love how they interact with eachother

@@Dan-gi6tf I completely agree with you on Fincher, although idk why you had to drag Stranger Things there, Stranger Things is also a fantastic show. Nonetheless, to me it does seem like Fincher is just shouldering the blame on Netflix when in reality he complained about the show a lot after season 2, how it was hard to make, expensive, he lost sleep, had to rewrite huge swaths of the script, etc, and I could see not getting awards play into this as well. The fact that Netflix put the show on "hiatus" to allow for his busy schedule signals to me they were absolutely willing to do another season, negotiations were absolutely on the table. If it was really a Netflix problem at the heart of the issue, they would have just unceremoniously cancelled the show after season 2 like they've done so many shows, they've never been afraid to do so. I think Fincher either didn't want to do the show anymore, or maybe during negotiations didn't get exactly what he wanted, or WORST case scenario Netflix wanted to pull back on the budget. In any case, my reading is Fincher didn't fight for us nearly as hard as he could have, there's no way a talent like him was totally out of options with respect to a Season 3. The show wasn't unpopular, it still routinely trends on the Netflix front page. Also if anyone doubts this theory, Holt McCallany (the guy who plays agent Tench) said verbatim when asked if the show would continue "It's Fincher's call". It was never about Netflix, it was about Fincher.
Just finished watching both season yesterday and today i got to know that Netflix cancelled it completely??!!... Now i want to cry seriously. I was too invested on this series. Its truly an amazing show. Please Netflix bring it back...it's sooooo disappointing 😢

(Dont recommend it) I thought i was hearing the phone ring every 5 minutes, but i watched a few episodes again, and for some mad reason, there is always a phone ringing in the background. So I just learned the guy who plays Holden does the voice for Sven in fucking -Frozen-. You could NOT put someone in more different roles XD. Nice to know he could serenade the psychopaths???
Season 1 was superb script acting dialogue. I laughed was engaged with the storyline and set up introducing each character.. shame they ended the show after season 2 if 3 ever apears anywhere else go back to that style of writing..

The (vastly) minority opinion: I tried the first 3 episodes, and just could not get into it. Particularly I thought the guy who played Ford was an awful actor.
also I actually noticed with many people whenever they see this actor who played ford (jonathan groff) in other projects or shows he has been in they always see him as ford or reminds him of mindhunter. I think he was best known for this series or his iconic role as holden ford. And I couldn’t agree more. And majority said he was an amazing actor here. Well ngl, I thought he’s not that good in the few early episodes but i guess he left a big mark too in this series
The series was at it best when fast forwarding through the forced sexual content. A couple of episodes were shorter is all . It seriously had nothing to do with the series. Directors ,producers and writers are deviants and love to see their actors naked having sex. Its to bad the actors have no respect for themselves. Can't always blame someone else for your stupied actors choices .
