This was extremely fun to react to, the song is spot on about the internet. And Bo is a great singer and musician. I have heard parts of the song but didn’t hear the entire song. I hope you enjoy this video, I thought I’ll make something fun today.
Thank you for watching
(I also want to apologize about there not being the music video in my video, I’m very early in this whole thing. And eventually I’ll be able to make it happen) - Zábava
"Today I was bored so I decided to do a reaction video."
Congrats, you got the song before it even started.
Boredom is a crime after all
When she said “I don’t remember this I was born in 2004.” I instantly felt old.
I was born 2005 mate
@@Ashes-001 bro, that was my freshmen year of highschool, also the first year of CZcams.
@@Ashes-001 bro, that was the year I got my first divorce.
My dude I am 55. How do you imagine I feel?
@@Ashes-001 hey kid
The quality isn’t amazing, but hopefully it will get better with time. I don’t have the possibilities to make it better. So pls bare with me 😊
You did great.
Hey you did great. Thank you for sharing it.
The quality is fine, but maybe do not put the camera on your lap that way it wont bounce around so much.
As a millennial, it’s very interesting to see this song directed specifically to you younger kids, because we “grew up with the internet”, but we didn’t grow up “with the internet”. Sure, we were the first to really embrace the internet, to have the internet help shape us in our formative years, but when we were young, we weren’t immersed in it. Social media wasn’t a big thing until most of us were in high school or older. And same with mobile devices. We had to get on some shitty internet with dialup on the one desktop in the house. It wasn’t all encompassing at that time, at least not until we were mostly adults.
Despite this, we are an internet generation. We may not have been raised in the internet, but we get you guys in a way generations before us never got us. Sure, your tastes and your interests are unique, but that only endears us to you.
And so, back to the song, this is almost like, “Welcome, kids.” Welcome to the frequently fucked up world we live in. You are finally coming of age, and now you can finally see what we see. We finally have companions in this circus show. And we understand that it’s gonna mess you up just like it did us. So be careful, and pay attention.
5:53 You have to remember, at its heart, this is a comedy song. Bo Burnham is a comedian. He does a lot of absurdist humor mixed with biting commentary. He's singing this entire song as though he represents the internet itself. Like he's one of the people who created it. Like a ringleader or carnival barker for an old school freakshow or circus. It's a character he's playing for this song. So, he starts by pointing out all the ways that the internet can be a really messed up place. Then he talks about how the internet used to be so much simpler in its infancy and that he (playing a character), as one of these predatory forces waiting to prey and profit on the constant overload of information the internet has become today, was waiting for the next generation to come along to blow the internet up into the chaos it now is. That's his character's point anyway.
Great reaction! You got his vibe exactly right. He is a genius.
I've watched about 20 different reaction videos to songs from Inside and this is the best one yet!
He's both personifying the internet and millennials and talking to you directly, zoomers and younger.
It's been very interesting seeing the different age groups reacting to this, the older who saw internet form, but didn't grow up with it. The Gen Z who literally never lived without it, and is the "you" in this song. Then there's a certain section of Gen Y, that awkward age where we both saw the internet form and grew up with it form the beginning... it's funny how nearly all of the people in that age category reacting to this just have a very different face compared to everyone else when watching this.
He is personifying the internet. BTW I loved your reaction. I have watched a bunch of reactions of this song, but you are good because you are really thinking about the meaning. Enjoying your work. Thank you
This song specifically is aimed toward content creators like you who turned to this because of the boredom/opportunity of the Lockdown. It's a Villain song from the perspective of a Villain that won. Mr. Internet got us all addicted
He turns directly at the camera and calls them "watchable". I've watched a lot of reaction videos for this song just to see how they would respond to that section. The slight nod at 6:38 is the closest I've seen as an acknowledgement at all.
amazing reaction! I love how you payed attention to the small details in this song like the how it got faster and faster just like how we scroll through the internet. If you haven't seen it already you should react to "All Eyes On Me" from the same special. Its a much heavier song but with an amazing message!! :)
What a lovely person :)
Great reaction even despite your video issues; good on you for expanding your reach.
Ye, Bo is so phenomenal) He got nicely funny songs from his old specials and more seriousness lyrics from last "inside" show
I really liked your observations, that baby on an iPad is the kind of person I think he's talking to.
I think "We" means the people who make money when we engage with the internet. The people who designed technology to become a part of our lives that we won't go without. "We" don't care what you do with the internet, so long as you click and generate money.
The internet as a whole is catchy and disturbing. And most of us (me included) can't go a day without it.
Bo uploaded his first YT video in 2006 when he was 16, so he has a unique pov as someone who matured while everyone was watching him online. He also wrote, shot, directed and edited this whole special (Inside) by himself in one room over the pandemic lockdown. It's amazing, and completely blew my mind.
Wow yes, that makes sense. And yes Bo is amazing. Very creative
I dislike this trend towards creating mythical cabals that run things and have nefarious plans. No one designed technology to be something we couldn't live without. Folks designed technology to serve functions that people would like and WE made them things we couldn't live without. Us, the consumer, HAD to have the latest iPhones or fitbit, or whatever. A lot of the internet doesn't make money, a lot of it is just advertising in hopes it will translate to sales, sites that make money from your visits do so via being paid by advertisers. It's the same racket as network TV in that regard and to that point, I agree that the "we" in part could be the corps that are driving addictive content to increase views and eyeball time. But it's not the technology, it's how boths sides are choosing to use it. It's just instant consumerism and a society that was caught up in enough futurism and optimism to forget the evils we learned in the 80's.
@@Kleehv Maybe a portion of people take it exactly as it is said but i hope that most understand that art can be honest without being literal.
We spent our time waiting for YOU!
Dark Carnival Barker Bo Burnham just giving you his thoughts and opinions.
That one image of that one dm is what I'd discribe the mental image
You stole this comment but it's such a good one that I can only congratulate you for sharing it here :')
@@JD-jl4yy Yes. But also it needed to be shared liberally like seasoning on chicken.
He’s one of the millennials who built the internet with our MySpace pages and he works on it. You’re one of the children who’s never torn a telephone out of a wall.
You're not ready for this.
Welcome to the Internet
I suggest you check out some of the songs he created when he was REALLY young... like 14.... Lookup "Rehab for fictional characters"....... or "My Whole Family".... he's great!
This was an excellent reaction. You should check out his "inside" special. Bo is a genius
"why is that true" :D
Bo burnham has always been a genius ahead of his time. If you haven't seen it yet, check out his 'Make Happy' special. It was the last live performance he did before the hiatus. I've always said that bo burnham is the van goph of our age, and I hope he realizes it before he actually becomes that
Also, your reaction, (this is the first I've seen from you, and I LOVED it), was amazing!!!!!!!! Keep up all of the good work
subscribed i wanna see where this goes
Major white pill listening to your story of the toddler with an iPad. Great seeing the younger folk understand how concerning it is to hand over parenting to tech companies.
I was 19 when iPads were invented 😭
the singularity hungers.
You were bored? Yup that's a crime
Lol... Yeah 😁👌
I don't care - and that's a tragedy. :-D
Please recommend me more stuff you want to see, I’ll react to it 👇
who r we?? ..he means we all ..the people..
I specifically enjoy the take of him personifying the creator of the internet
I almost wrote enter net
You're in Eighth Grade and Bo made a movie called Eighth Grade :)
should also be using ear phones or buds then adding the audio synced up in editing with the video. your listening quality is important for reactions.
I’m working with what I can for now, I promise the quality will increase just not yet
I was also born in 1990 like Bo Burnham, very envious to be honest. I've written many poems and songs, but I'll be honest, he is miles ahead of me. Lol maybe someday I'll catch up.
Dimebag Darrell was murdered in 2004. I hope your birth and that aren't related.
That makes no sense l
@@zodiack2021 Sorry. I'm not smart.
should have been watching the video instead........
Bo hate catchy choruses but, he is a hypocrite.
I sense an antithetical disturbance. Who are you?
Hmm?
I sense a somewhat hurtful comment. Who are you
@@zodiack2021 Hmm? indeed.
Over your head.
i think she pretty much got it
Woah there Joe Spaghettio, I think she understood it just fine, just because she's young don't make her unaware of stuff.
