What happened when Caiaphas (tore his garment ) is more than a ripped robe. He ( VIOLATED Highest Jewish LAW ) And ( LOST his Priesthood. ) what does this mean ! 🤔
One of the things the High priest was ( forbidden ) to do was to tear his clothing. The passage is found in Leviticus 21 and says:
10 ‘He who is the high priest among his brethren, ( on whose head the anointing oil was poured and who is consecrated to wear the garments, shall not uncover his head nor ( tear his clothes; )

When I came to know Christ, and my eyes were opened to the meanings of the Passover I had celebrated with my family my whole life, I thought OH I need to explain this all to my family!! One thing I'd like to add in relation to the cups of wine in the Last Supper alludes also to the Kiddushin Cup in the ancient wedding which betrothes the bride and groom to each other when Yeshua says in Matthew 26 "This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father's kingdom" which alludes to the second coming - which is the parable of the ten virgins - which alludes to the Feast of Trumpets

As a non Jewish person who celebrates Passover in my home and teaches it to friends who come as guests, I loved this presentation. I had never seen the reference in the Book of Jubilees of Abraham joyfully celebrating this Feast for seven days every year. There is always some new thing to learn regarding this Feast! Bless you!

If you have time to attend a Catholic mass you will see many of those aspects. All the utensils, the cup, the bread, the plates, the lights are a Jews celebration, even the priest put water into the wine. The eucharist is a Memorial because you live again the event that happened in the past, in this case we live again the moment when Jesus died for us.

I remember many years ago our church decided to do a Passover Seder instead of our traditional crucifixion drama. From my gentile perspective of that night, it was undescribably amazing "seeing" all the meaning behind all the elements and scripture we read and songs we sang that night. My heart was leaping of joy. Ever since then I would prefer a Passover Seder than a crucifixion drama because of all the meaning in it 😊

I've been thinking about the Passover and the Last Supper the last couple of days.
I've been hearing wildly varying claims from teachers about the time-line of the Passover lamb Sacrifice, the Last Supper, the Passover Feast, the crucifixion, the tomb burial, and the resurrection.. And the seder. And something about High Sabbath. And how it lines up with the 3 days and 3 nights prediction.
It would be very helpful and a blessing to have knowledgeable Jewish Christian teachers who understand the ancient Jewish practices explain and lay it all out.
The only teacher I've seen explain the 3 days and the sabbath rest that makes sense with the Scriptures is John Kostik. The video is called The Spring Moedim.
From a more traditional/ancient perspective consider how Jesus, being a new Moses, was a “type of Christ” for various and very good reasons, who (as a new Moses), was the one to usher in the new and final exodus freeing us not from the bondage and slavery of Egypt (as with the old) but from sin, while Jesus leads us to the new Heavenly Jerusalem.
Also, just as it was required before the old exodus a lamb had to be slain AND eaten, so too before this new exodus Christ freely offered himself as the new Paschal lamb to also be slain AND eaten (under the appearance of bread), the new manna (truly from heaven) for the purpose of this new exodus we're on, which the old had pointed forward to and was therefore a shadow of the new.
By the way, there is also good reason to suggest that the fourth cup that Christ “did” drink from (in order to “finish” the last supper), was fulfilled by him “drinking from the vine” from the hyssop branch that was offered to him on the cross; this, just before he uttered the words "It is finished!" and then died. This was the same type of branch used to sprinkle blood on the door posts before the old exodus.
For more on this, I would highly recommend the book, “The Forth Cup” by biblical scholar and theologian Dr Scott Hahn. Another fascinating read is “Jesus, the Bridegroom” about Christ and his bride (the Church, the new Israel, the new and eternal covenant), by Dr Brant Pitre.
Lastly, the significance of the three days (i.e. why the book of Joannah alluded to three and not two or five days) is relative to the day on which Christ was to rise, specifically on the "first" day of the "new creation" (Sunday), the same day during the old creation when "light" was created. How fitting given that we know Jesus is "the light" of the world and appropriately so, he is the light of the new creation. This is explained much more thoroughly by Dr Brant Pitre in his YT video, "The New Creation".
Consider Passover on Weds the year Yeshua gave up his life. Tues would be the Preparation Meal (last supper); Weds @ 9th hr Yeshua sacrificed with all the other lambs; Weds evening "High Sabbath" Passover. No one allowed leave home through Thurs. Friday day purchase of spices but not able to go to tomb due to weekly Shabbat. Then Saturday day (Shabbat) Yeshua is raised 72hrs after death. People aren't out & about until first day of the week Saturday evening. Women go to the tomb. It fits with all the Scriptures in New Testament. It ties with Feast of Unleavened Bread and it ties in with Feast of First Fruits. Maybe this helps.

Thank you all for sharing this and sharing that Yeshua Ha Mashiach is IN the Passover. Will be sharing this with my son when he gets home from work today. We start preparing for Pesach months ahead with inviting family and friends, planning food items and where to get each, seating and table arrangements, and reading lots of labels on food containers. I make lots of lists so that I don't forget anything. This is one of my favorite Holy days and I get enjoyment in the preparations and the relaxation afterwards knowing that I have done well. This year my son will be leading the Seder because my husband died about two years ago. We may even fit in a couple of dances if we have the room for it after setting up two tables to seat everyone coming. We do our best to show Yeshua in the Pesach. Todah!
Utter gibberish. Pesach the Passover is about freeing the body and the soul of external limitations. What you are doing by adopting Jesus is fettering, putting the soul in chains, incarcerating your holy soul. It is meant to soar and reach out to God, instead you limit it, and prevent it from reaching its true potential. Forsake this fallacy and return to your true roots.
