    After listening to Phil on here we booked afternoon tea at the Tower last summer and went to hear him live. Well worth it if you're near enough to go.

    Reminds me of the wartime years when the Tower ballroom was crammed full of young people in uniforms dancing to the Wurlitzer. Does your heart good listening to such good playing .. Marjorie Holmes in New Zealand

      Marjorie Holmes - my Dad met my Mum at the Tower Ballroom Blackpool during early WW2. He then spent the entire war in Burma, came back in one piece and they got married. So much for Match.com 😊.
      Greetings from N America.

    It fills your heart with joy listening and in a day when the world just seemed to spin in a better way. Total innocence and wonderful playing to boot. Well done and thanks Phil.

    Its simple... This man is very simply the best. He is right on his game hear. That's why so many people aged 5 to 95 come to see him on this magical instrument.

    Great music from Phil reminds me of when I use to go to the Blackpool Tower with my late husband Eric who I might add played the Tower Wurlitzer once many years ago he played the organ in a band called The Deeside Seven...

      Craig Smith. So must I. I'm in London and quite old and disabled, but I don't want to 'kick m'clogs' before seeing and hearing this iconic instrument. Good luck, Mr Smith!!

    I used to have one. It used 6SN7s, had two manuals and 13 pedals.
    For some reason, it didn't sound quite like this one...

    This music just gives me chills to listen to. What are the songs in this medley?

  • @MrRaggeJ
    @MrRaggeJ Před 11 lety +1

    I wonder what the screen to the right is, is it the notes for the music or just a mirror to check the dancers+
    there is also a little round gadget to the right, what is that?

  • @marcel911
    @marcel911 Před 6 lety +1

    Why do they have a Wersi Lovre in the ballroom? Is the Wurlitzer sometimes out of action?

  • @TheMysticalOrgan
    @TheMysticalOrgan Před 12 lety +1

    I worry about the future of this place - look on the dance floor. Old folk (and kudos to them for being able to have such evident fun at their age!) and not many of them. Where are the younger players, too?. We've got the excellent Richard Hills, but he's not a dance organist. Gone are the days when Blackpool could pack 20,000+ people into its ballrooms... instead the sheeple cram into ghastly nightclubs.
    In hope and prayer, a disillusioned 20-year-old...

    prefer JOhn Bowlders style more in line with reg dixons style

  • @homosexisnotgodsbest4u964

    this guy needs to trim his fingernails, you can hear them tapping on the keys compared to the other people who play this organ

    • @wersiorgan
      @wersiorgan  Před 8 lety +14

      It has nothing to do with his finger nails, its the actual keys that you are hearing ,his finger nails are trim...Why the hell am I answering this anyhow.....
