- Battlefield 4 features several changes compared to its predecessor. The game's heads-up display is much the same, composed of two compact rectangles. The lower left-hand corner features a mini-map and compass for navigation, and a simplified objective notice above it; the lower right includes a compact ammo counter and health meter. The mini-map, as well as the main game screen, shows symbols marking three kinds of entities: blue for allies, green for squadmates, and red/orange for enemies

I personally don't like to counter-knife my opponents. Knifing somebody from the front is practically just killing yourself, seeing as counter-knife is an instakill.
Somme i attacked someone and just kept mashing R3 and killed them but it was on the ps3 idunno if that makes a difference
Its because they failed the prompt (either too late or too early)or they tried to knife you but you knifed him first thus failing the prompt.

Magic punch. You rapidly press aim and shoot buttons right after the initial melee. It drives people right up the wall, lol!

omar mostafa You're right; he didn't press R3 because he's on PC (note the key binding prompts 3, T, 4, V on the pad at the bottom center).
I never expected so many comments on this post, I just wanted to show my amazement, since I also don't know much about BF4.

luksjjjjj There could be an animation where you slice their backpack with your knife to destroy their parachute then sparta kick them off the roof. It would be so satisfying watching them fall, with the two halves of their parachute uselessly fluttering behind them... Anyone agree?

1:30 wtf happened there? You got shanked in the chest, but pushed it out without any sort of button prompt. Then, at 1:34, the guy you pushed off is so flabbergasted by your sheer determination and raw will power to stay alive after a knife to the chest, he falls into a coma. Explain these godly powers?

Shouldn't just be press one button get reverse knife kill.
Should be a random button that turns the tables on the enemy and then the enemy has a random button to push.

I don't know much about Military type shit, but I read somewhere it is extremely dishonorable to take BOTH dog tags off of an enemy soldier. Is that true?
Yes, because without the dog tags the family of the soldier that you killed gets no pension.
Yeah. It's a pretty asshole move since there's no way of identifying the soldier and if I recall, the family of a dead gets no pay if the body doesn't have dog tags.
Either way, I hope they get rid of the dog tag thing in BF5 because as well as making the soldiers seem disrespectful, it also means the animations look way less cool. Look up a video of the BF3 alpha knife animation before they decided to add the dog rage. They were way more fast-paced, brutal and efficient.

Pacmikey If you were a soldier chances are you wouldn't ever get close enough to an enemy (pr their body) during combat to do that. But still, I think that it's annoying that they added it to BF because it makes the animations lame.r

don`t know , sometimes i get 80fps , the minimum is 40fps and this on 1080p , if i try to change something i get instant crash , they need to make this game accessible to more gamers , a lot of people have lag ( nividia users have the biggest problems )

I hate the new counter knifing because it's way too easy for the opponent to counter you because the option stays up for about 2 seconds and that's way too long. It should be more like quarter of a seconds so it really is hard to counter it.

It disincentives knifing from the front. If you were to knife someone from the back instead of directly in front of them in real life, it would be a lot easier.

This is one of the best examples of why consoles will never compare to the PC game play... for the Xbox 360 the videos require a lot of tweaking to get smooth slow motion and you make it look like it's a piece of cake. Great Montage man!

hey I love your videos but I hve a question I just recently started playing battlefield (1 week ago) and I was wondeining if you could make a video for getting better secondarys cause I almost all the time find myself in a situation where I killed like 3 ememys then have to re load but then theirs one more ens switch to my secondary to try and get the kill but since I still have the default pistol it almost always never happens so yeah could you make a video on getting better secondaryspleae tha would be great BTW I just switched from cod and battlefield is way better just though I should say that

I don't know if this is true, but when I knifed someone from the front (my knife equipped, instead of using the thumb stick.) I kept spamming the trigger, and killed him more quickly than usual. Either a glitch or feature.
Hi, I was wondering at one part of the video you knifed a sniper, is there any reason he didn't counter knife? What I mean is can you counter, a counter knife?
The sniper was just too slow. The sniper had the option of pressing "E" and would've killed OP.
But to answer your question:
If the sniper countered the knife attack, you would die. You cannot counter the counter attack.

Hey Pacmikey, the whole stealing dog tags thing is actually been around since battlefield 2142, if you got a certain knife kills and medal you wear the enemies dogtags on your knife

One time I was on Dawnbreaker and i parachuted down, got 2 C4 kills. Then knifed someone and when they tried to counted my solider brought out his pistol and shot him three times in the head falling off of the building. It was EPIC!

They say the recipient to the knife only has 1 second to counter? Then why when i raise my knife in the air he catches it and holds it for at least 4 seconds then counter knife? You should have to like keep tapping it so he doesn't have time or something along those lines

at 1:14 how did he counter the counter knife?
I don't think that happened, what happened was that the guy tried to counter but he pressed the button at the wrong time. When this happens the animation is extended, but the guy who failed the counter still gets killed.

If they keep spamming the counter button or if they counter too late/soon, you will punch the enemy in the face and steal his dog tag.
One time I accidentally countered a knife because I tried to throw nade but pressed f mid animation instead

Sometimes it is very buggy and there is no animation at all, sometimes I hit the button 3 times behind a guy to get one knifing triggered....

When you knife someone and steal their tags, you're basically saying "I own you". I love stealing tags, they're probably the most satisfying trophies you can have in any game.
BF1 almost fixed the knifing, and made it feel a little bit more like actual hand to hand combat, but there’s just too many SMG‘s for it to be viable

They should make knifing like a fight, you have to rapidly press something, like who ever does it faster or more gets the kill/counter, like there's an invisible bar that moves left to right depending on each guys button/key pressing speed. Bar touches end left, you die, if bar touches end right, he dies. :L
How did you reject the counter knife?
I loved the counter knife option in BF4, it felt realistic and gave people a chance instead of the knife being insta death. Most people assumed you had to mash the melee button to win but its just timing, you have to hit it at the right time to successfully counter
I played Warface, Call of duty and Point blank. In these games there are no any takedowns. After watching this video I'd like to play BF4. Ambient looks more realistic and takedowns make it more interesting and realistic.

bullet proof vest can stop a projectile traveling 600 mps but absolutely useless against a blade traveling 1 mps (guesstimating on that one)
That has to do with the weave of the Kevlar, however most tac vests have a "modern chain-mail" type composition to counter knives, and ceramic plates to help protect against shrapnel. However it doesn't work one hundred percent of the time, but if they are wearing an "armored tactical vest" instead of combat rigging vest it would be very difficult to stab someone through the vest. However, because of the ceramic plating it reduces mobility, so they are not always used. So yes, a "civilian grade/police grade" bullet proof vest is shit against stabs, however military grade vest have more to them. Oh, and there is dragon skin in development.(just trying to help explain, hope you understand now. Cheers)
