    The stale taste is a lack of oxygen.
    Agitate it and leave the water out.
    The stale taste will diminish.

    To get rid of the stale taste, the easiest thing you can do is pour the water back and forth between two containers a few times. This churns in new, fresh air into the water.

      Rishi Agrawal I'm more worried about the lead test. I didn't totally get how to read the thing, but it was pretty close to 2, and the other one was very far away from it. Basic water (9 or 10) isn't going to harm you.. but lead contamination will

      Geepadoodle bit more complicated then just mixing gasses, when I was messing with gallium the other day I decided I wanted to test out something you can do with gallium. Basically if u mix aluminum with gallium and add water to it it creates aluminum oxide and hydrogen but it didn’t just make water by mixing with the air.

      Faye Kwatch Yah. Tap water and some bottled have a slight amount of chlorine in it. You can test it. That's the reason behind it's stale taste when left out over night (All the Cl leaves)

    You shake the can before you open it, to mix oxygen back into the water. Or pour it back and forth between two containers to mix in oxygen. That will refresh the water and get rid of the stale taste.

      Yeah, i think so too. Most of the stale taste comes from the water being boiled prior to be hermetically sealed. He should try and shake the next can rigorously.

      Dennis Jones Some of that stale taste is also likely to be caused by mineral loss... Things like calcium missing from water really change the flavor. If you've ever tried fresh Reverse Osmosis water, you learn that pretty quick

      Nitrites and nitrates are the waste products of bacteria. A positive test would indicate the presence of bacteria.

      The pH of pure water is 7. In general, water with a pH lower than 7 is considered acidic, and with a pH greater than 7 is considered basic.
