Especially when the Skinwalker takes the most perfect voice to use.
Seriously, out of everything it could’ve taken from Bob’s mic, it took his laugh.
It actually targets too, it will choose a designated player to mimic most of the time, to keep it consistent and harder to tell if it’s fake or not. This actually happened to me today and the mimic literally responded to what I was saying.. I eventually died trying to find who I thought was my friend 😭
Best mid combo is the skinwalker mod setting it so only masked can talk and a revamped masked mod so you can remove the mask and zombie arms from them. Truly terrifying not knowing who is real.
And when Mark got to the door in the end and a skinwalker approached him...holy shit
Hearing bob talk over himself in an odd tone was one of the creepiest things I have ever heard, and the fact that mark picked up on it before anyone is proof that mark knows his friends and has played way too many horror games

Not like mark is going to see this, but i highly recommend getting the mod that turns off the mask for the mimic (it also copies the player’s cosmetic items and suits). It makes it 100 TIMES MORE SCARY. Played with my bf with that mod, and I remember just seeing him at the end of the hall way, staring at me. I genuinely thought it was him, and then he started full on sprinting at me. It was a mimic, and let me tell you i have never been so scared in a video game.

Yeah, bad enough the vocal mimcs, but they're lucky the fake crew are wearing generic outfits. Making sure everyone is wearing personalized outfits is the only way to be cautious, but that doesn't help much in the blizzard.

Okay that little bit is driving me CRAZY though, because I had assumed that was part of the skinwalker mod that plays back players voices, But upon asking around and trying to find it for myself, and getting the skinwalker mod to try out, it looks like the skinwalker mod on its own does not do any kind of effects like that... Unless the voice recorded ALREADY had that effect going on it whenever the mod recorded it when the player initially said it. Now I'm trying to find confirmation that that wasn't a separate mod they were using to make it all spooky

@@fungisrock8955 The mod simply records clips of people talking and plays them over nearby enemies whenever it feels like it (probably randomly). If it's random or determined predictably, it's not the work of an AI. It's just a program running.

Having a slightly radioactive camera lens is kinda cool. Bob and Wade should have apreciated that more.
His ADHD fixation on it being let down when he realizes people don't share his interest causes such a hard to control disappointment spike. I understand how it feels with ADHD very similar to what he has.
couple tips,
1. If you stand on the railings most creatures cant hit you and you can shovel them to death
2. The dogs are blind and you can use noises to avoid them
3. You should try and have a signal to teleport if you dont have a radio, for example if someone is on the ship and the players dont have radios, you can like spin 3 times to signal for a teleport or something

Yeah, Wade crawled behind a rock and was trying to be creepy. But that was the only time he did that I believe. Bob, on the other hand, was screwing with everyone at all times. You can tell the difference from bobs mimic and Bob himself by the echo. If there’s an echo, it’s real Bob messing with them.

Idk if these mimic crew mates are modded or not but they are the most terrifying thing in this game so far. Also they are so amazing in this episode! It feels almost scripted how they are slowly hinted at the whole episode and then at the end they get ambushed by a ton of them

The mimic crewmates are in fact not modded, they're a new enemy that came in the latest base game update. But the whole mimicking your friends voices thing is a mod, it's called the skinwalker mod, probably one of the most popular if not the most.

I feel like I'm kind of desensitized to horror but some stuff still gets me but in some of mindsets makes me feel like I am not scared of most things horror anymore. Like in the tired mindset sometimes makes me feel I'm desensitized to it. But that could be the main stream that I'm desensitized too. From the podcast I’m guessing it’s one of the radioactive camera lenses he was talking about. It’s not a dangerous amount, it’s just an unfortunate material that the makers added to their products all those years ago.
Your phone emits radiation. So most people have something radioactive on their person at all times. It’s nothing serious but a Geiger counter will register it when you phone is on.

Tbh, with how quickly Mark clues in on certain things, I am 100% certain he has encountered actual cryptids outside of the whole Amy voice thing that happened a while back.
Another pro tip from a clip I found. As for the Jester, either lead it into a room while passive and have someone lock the door from the ship when you leave, OR if it's gone attack mode, all players leave the building and it will reset to it's passive state. AND, there are fuse boxes that can close "Terminal doors" in game, if no one is one the ship. I'm guessing once closed, they never open again?

@@blehbleh1260 Yeh, she has ceramics with uranium glaze, they are usually harmless unless you swallow a chipped piece, needless to say they don't use uranium glazes anymore for obvious reasons.
