Day 9 of training here in Iten, Kenya with Running Trips. Today we visited the Kipchoge Stadium in Eldoret, Kenya (2100m above sea level). Today on the plan was 10x1k in preparation for my next race; the Boston Marathon. What an experience. If you're new to the channel please leave a like and consider subscribing for more.

Ben I have watched multiple runners do vlogs and document their experience in Kenya. Yours has been one of the very best man. I honestly mean that. Great work!!
Wow, thank you! Much appreciated
I agree loving it. Well done Ben 🏃🏼♂️👏🏻👏🏻
Totally agree.
What made this series more authentic is that there's no unnecessary bs just all about running and running alone.
Heartbreaking the state of the track and facilities, it’s a really big issue at the moment. The Kenyan runners deserve such better facilities, we risk losing athletes to other countries.
Great content.
I would be particularly excited about sharing a track with Kelvin Kiptum - that 2:01:53 was his first marathon and he's only 23!
These running vlogs have been amazing! Really top notch vicarious enjoyment 🙂
Glad you like them!
Your positivity and energy are so contagious! It is exciting to see someone that is so passionate about the sport have the opportunity to bask in the Kenya experience. Loving the series!
I have seen accross the comments how people enjoy your vlogs, Ben - no difference on my end! But what I have noticed is that I am really waiting for your episodes here. Been around your channel for a while, jumping in once in a while to see how you were doing, but this documentry is definitely a gem on this channel. Lots of good stuff that you include here, starting from people, places but also training. All the best Ben on recruiting blood cells and squeezing your PB in Boston!
Remember watching Kip Keino in the 1968 and 1972 Olympics. Didn't realise his name was kipchoge as nearly everyone referred to him as Kip at the time.
Ah I see! He was quite the champion I’ve heard
It’s never cringe to rep the home team!
Dude! 3:02 pace on last rep at altitude. Boston is going to be crazy!
Crazy when you're running that fast and people are still passing you! Great video Ben!
Hi Ben really look forward to your video’s. I live in Zimbabwe so can relate to the early morning starts. We just love to run before 6 o’clock. We are Training for the Two Oceans ultra 56k marathon in Cape Town.
That is awesome! Hope your trainings going well
🇿🇦Good luck my neighbor 💗
Congratulations on your PB
Ben is teaching
Must be so inspiring to rub shoulders with those record holders in person!
Exactly what I was about to comment! This must be something like a candy store would be for kids 🙂
Incredibly!
@@PM-gf1nj after I left the track I felt as if I’d won a race. Runners high for sure
Thanks for sharing! Very inspiring stuff Ben.
Inspiring, another great video!
Amazing video beginning to end!
Amazing Ben. What an experience. Thanks for this awesome series to follow.
Amazing vibes to run in that track. Great job!
Just wanted to say thanks! Been watching your channel for a while and your journey has inspired me a lot to start running myself. Keep up the great content & enjoy your last few days in Kenya!
Loving these videos Ben, great work. Going to miss them when you’re back but I’m sure there is plenty more great content to tune into 👍💪
What an incredible experience! The track was buzzing!! Thanks for sharing Ben 👍
Absolutely love these vlogs. It's my favourite part of the day. Your enthusiasm is contagious :)
great workout, man! and also another amazing vlog, keep em coming! :)
These running vlogs has oddly been so motivating and inspiring for me, always makes me wanna go out for a run myself hahah, thanks for the effort!
It was great to see you out there! Tuesday was chaotic on the track😂😂
Loving the videos! One day I‘ll also go to iten
go ben go!!!!
Great video great workout!
A lot of people thought Kipchoge stadium was named after Eliud
Love waking up to a new Kenyan vlog, I’m going to miss them when you get back to the UK haha. Any chance of a follow along video of a proper Kenyan running warm up? Absolutely loving the content, keep it up!
It's very nice to see a Zevenheuvelenloop shirt on one of the runners. I have one of those.
watching this right after my Sunday Long Run while re-fueling; wants me to head out again 😅 definitely a dream running destination
you can see how there is already a path on lane 1 because the track is being used so much
great video, thank you. 3:02 min/km it is really fast, can you give us some tips on breathing? how do you breath when you go so fast?
Hi! Can you put the link altitude converter? Please great video from France 🇫🇷
So inspiring 😍 I wonder what your maximum heart rate is when you ran with an average of 162bpm on your last lap which you absolutely smashed down the track 😮💨
They have a really good track nearby at the lornah kiplagat sports academy
Love this series
Thanks Thomas
Kip Keino also won Olympic silver in the 5000 (1968) and 1500 (1972). One of the greatest middle distance athletes of all time. The only world record he set was the 3000. Something like 7:39, it stood for a long time.
Hi Ben - loving the series, what a fantastic experience. Do I have this right, that all of the Kenyans key sessions, be it a track workout, fartkek, hills or long run will always be in a fasted state 1st thing in the morning? Anything in the afternoon / evening will be just recovery jogging?
You should do more of these. Maybe go to toluca mexico which is at 2,600m altitude and that's the place where a lot of these Kenyans go to train there
Love your content, my favourite running channel. I only started running in lockdown, so my running journey isn't even 3 years old now, but rather addicted now. I have completed 7 half marathons, 7 10ks, a 5k and the London Marathon last year. My PBs are 4:39:06(FM)/1:49:20(HM)/49:25(10k)/23:05(5k). I would love to try the Kenya Experience, it looks epic, but concerned I'd be the slowest and least experienced there. Would there be groups/pacers etc at my level?
amazing workout Ben, love
Glad you enjoyed it!
What altitude converter did you use? Couldn't find it in the description
Previosuly u mentioned that both Mach 4 and 5 were/are your fav training shoes. But we don't see you running in them. Have u changed your opinion since then?
Hi, just wondering, what's your BMI, or what's optimal for you?
yeah
it looks way to busy there for a good workout!!!
Link for the altitude converter??
Worlds most intimidating track session
How long after you eat do the Kenyans run ?
Did I miss the Boston announcement
This was such a cool video! if I were to go down to Itan myself do you know about what it would cost me for 2 weeks? Or even to live down there.
Depends on where you stay. The Kenya experience with the running trips is £1350 I believe
@@BenIsRunning gotcha yeah I found that price as well. Does that pay for the plane ticket?
😎👍🙌
Wat heart rate strap does Ben use ?
I use the polar sense
@@BenIsRunning Thanks Ben appreciate it.
What is the length of the track? it looks more then 400 m?
It’s a regular 400m :)
“Some of the best runners in the world train there” why are you there then 😅
This track isn’t anything to do with Eliud kipchoge unfortunately! It’s built for/by “kipchoge keino”. Most people think it’s eluid tho
And I have now got far enough into the video to hear you claim this also 😂
Ben if you want to maximize your full potential as a runner, you should live in Kenya permanently. (and add “Kip” to your surname)
Kipben definitely has a ring to it.
I’ll bare that in mind 😂
@@duhusker4383 oh yeah, could get used to that
