- This happened in my 2013 ford f150 but could happen in several other similar models.
I AM NOT A CERTIFIED MECHANIC.
THIS IS PERSONAL ADVICE GIVEN BY SOMEONE WITH PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH SAID ISSUE.
1. check fuses! including battery terminals.
2. check all visible wire connections. make
sure everything is secured, no melting,
no corrosion, etc.
3. visit your local parts store and scan for
codes. in my case it had several codes
such as MAF sensor, Throttle body, and
PCV valve. at that point I knew something
was way off. theirs no way all that just went
bad all the sudden...
but in many other cases, the code reader
might help narrow down the issue.
4. If you end up taking it to a mechanic, try to
avoid name brand dealers...they will charge
out the ass. I spent about $980 for them to
replace about 16" of wire.
Thanks bro. I've been having this issue with my 2013 Ford Expedition for a while now. It's so frustrating
Having this issue now in my 2016 expedition. Gonna start with fuses and work my way through. Thank you for all the info.
No problem! Fingers crossed its fuses 🤞🏼
Good luck!
Check the battery terminal fuse
Thanks forgot to plug it up lol just did a transmission flush and thought I broke something else thanks again
Thank you! Funny thing is all I had was the engine light so I went to my local AutoZone to pull up the code. They put in a new MAF Sensor and air filter. Car is running tons better. However! Now the AdvanceTrack light came on immediately about Five mins after I drove off! Might be this very issue! Thank you!!! ❤
I’ll be sure to check my fuses
Hopefully this will be the same case for me, been messing around with the this thing for past few days ,4-8X for last two days. Always enda up as something dumb and simple to fix. Thx for the helpful video.
Hope it helps man thanks for the comment 😁. If you didn’t read the description already be sure to check it out I’ll give a little bit better description of what to check for
I do have that same problem right now was checking to see if I could the problem thanks for that vedio
Man i have been having this same exact issue on my Ford Fusion based on your description of it. I am praying thats all with mine also. About to check it out!
What did they find out?
Well got to check the wiring harness. Just started having that pop up on my 2012.
Along with the SAT light I have the parking brake light coming also good times
I am having almost exact same problem with my 2013 Fusion, except it usually happens when i am making a sharp turn when backing up or turning into a drive way hasnt happen with straight driving and no noticeable loss of power. Your video was helpful since if wiring is lose or compromised in some way sharp turns may stretch it near the wheels, will check all that thanks

Any update?
Micheal my 2011 fusion is doing the same thing with turning the steering wheel. What did you find out was it a fuse or bad wire?
My 2012 F-150 does this same thing. I replicated today, 9/9/2022. It's only when I cut the wheel all the way to the left. I get a loud noise I can't even describe and the light comes on.
Whelp, that wire harness is not my problem. Wires are ran better on my truck, they don't even come close to the exhaust. I've got the 5.0, not sure what engine he has.
Thank you for your video
Thanks for this video
I like that burp
My ford explorer 2005 advanced trac is on too idk how to take it off.
Thanks bro
Thank you!!!
I just started having an issue with my 2013 Explorer, I had the same type of issue with a Chevy Cruze when I parked it on the grass, dam squirrels ate thru a wire in the cruze, I SURE HOPE it's a similar issue
So… you had an issue and just loaded the parts cannon??
Replaced electronic steering rack on 2013 Ford Taurus and got the Service Advancetrac msg. I believe a Ford programmer is necessary to fix. Prob need dealership. Can anyone comment?
Nice "piece" in the door bro! 🤓
Lol thanks
My 2018 Explorer with that warning had the MAP sensor. I guess its the could be anything light.
I have a 2013 FX4 w/6.2 motor 135k miles (I bought it used in 2015). I started getting these same issues randomly about 9 months ago, I checked about a dozen possible causes all over the truck from the battery, ground wires, wheel sensors, fuses etc. The last "fix" I done 3 months ago (problem solved so far) was the brake control module located under the dash drivers side. I did not replace it, I simply secured it to the bracket it mounts to with two large wire ties. WHY? .. the brake module is secured to the bracket from the factory by a twist lock design (bad engineering), I noticed this module comes loose over time from vibration, bumpy roads, releasing the parking brake etc. (while driving your brake pedal is making constant contact with this sensor). I haven't spent any money on solving this issue or taken it to the dealership. I hope this helps someone.
I am not seeing this module do you have any pics?
Yeah I'm having the same problem with my 2017 Ford fusion hybrid. That and the hill start assist light keeps coming on. I guess I'll have to pop the hood and check it out, or probably see if I need new fuses too 🤦🏽♂️
I got a 2014 hybrid I hope that’s all that’s wrong to bro
This just happened to me this morning. It was my battery fuse relay on the positive side it had burned out. Went to O'Reilly and got a new one and was unlocked and ready to go
how much did that cost you?
@@ddogg2685 i think like 10 bucks or something like that
@@bodyemcal thanks, that was a very fast reply for a 6 month old comment
My 2012 ford fusion randomly had that pop up, and as i was watching the video, the light went away
I have had this light "service advanced Traction Control" for about 3 years now it only effects my turn signals that I have seen meaning they wont stay on by themselves while warning is on. but other than that no other issues I have been told since i installed over size tires it caused this and have been told ( not sure how true it is ) hat the only way to solve would be resetting ECM and let it recognize the larger tires. I just got a OBD11 Scanner but as of now have not looked up yet how to do this.
Hi check on battery on positive terminal has fuse replace that fuse you good to go
Excelente pero el eructo estuvo de más 🐷
How much did the wiring fix cost you at Ford?
About $1,000 even. If I could go back in time I would’ve taken it to a small ma and pa shop
Which fuses did you replace? I have a 2014 f150 with the same warning. My power steering is locking up has happened twice
I believe 1 of them had to do with the throttle (throttle body or TPS) something to that nature. And 1 was something to do with the traction control system.
I’m sorry I don’t remember what fuse numbers off the top of my head
I'm having the same problem right now with my 2013 Ford Edge Sel.
How did u fix it, cuz I got the same edge and its like no one in my country can fix ford . SOS
@@safwanawwal3344 hit the defrost button and on button at the same time then hit to on button one time.
You may have to do this 2 or 3 times
How much does the wire hornish cost to fix or replace?
honestly i dont know off the top of my head but I do know it'll be A LOT cheaper if you buy it yourself online or at a parts store versus buying it through the dealership.
fortunately for me, I didnt have to replace the whole harness, only a section was replaced.
I had to have mine replaced on a 2017 F250 and it was 5K. Took a month to do as well.
2013 fusion. Same. Thanks I’ll check fuses and send this to my mechanic if its not that to ck harness.
When you said the repair was done without having to replace the entire wire harness was this done at an actual dealership? Pretty cool if so. I think I am in the same situation…now it’s off to find an ethical and transparent shop. Thanks for the video.
Yes! Instead of replacing the whole harness they cut out about a 12 or 16 inch area and Spliced in New wires to replace the burnt ones
@@joseybmorgan3034 thank you for the feedback. I saw that you answered my question already in the description…i’m going to take heed and avoid dealer as you mentioned. Thank you
I have that issue now
I have this issue now
What code was it throwing?
It was throwing at least 3-4 codes. 1 was the throttle body. Another was mass airflow sensor. And there was a couple more I can’t remember. but keep in mind the burnt wires were throwing false codes so PLEASE start with looking over the entire engine bay for anything outta place (burnt, unplugged, missing, etc)
Wow mine happened after a little bump with another vehicle while was parked, then the advance traction came up all fuses are OK and the codes thrown are
U0140:00-2A
U0155:00-2A
U267:00-2B
Pls advise thx
Mine turned out to be the ABS hydraulic module. As you can not just buy the Hydraulic part (HCU) I had to change out the whole part (Electronic and hydraulic parts). Unbelievable and unbelievably expensive... Nice work Ford.
Mass Airflow
Can you explain more please? I may have the same issue
@@cheizaguirre5494 I brought to dealer after it went into limp mode. The replaced MAF sensor and never got the Advancetrac light again... How they're related? Beats me these cars today can't sneeze without sharting their pants.
@@Ze0th i replaced my map sensor yesterday and then the light came on lol ..i hope it was just the connection or default part i put the old map sensor back on and light went away
@@cheizaguirre5494 yeah, no clue my friend. Ended up selling my Ford and got a new 2023 Jeep Rubicon because after the all trac light came on it never really drove right after that, the light never came back on but the trans seemed to be confused when and where to shift.
Advance track light, the abs light and the brake light came on all on the same time
As far as the brakes go, if they're still working as they should it's probably a fuse. My abs and brake light both came on the day I took it to the shop but the brakes were working just fine
@@joseybmorgan3034 thank you for the info
Mine comers on occasionally but when I turn off the truck and turn it back on it has gone away. Your video makes me think there is maybe a bad wire.
@@rickmossop3733 good possibility. When my issue first started I took it to Oreillys and used the code reader to clear the codes. Believe it or not, it would drive normal immediately after clearing but that only lasted about 1-2 minutes until the computer cycled or whatever
Ive got all those on too. What did you do to fix it? Fuse? Wiring harness? Mine is on a 2010 MKZ...but same issue.
Close, my light will come on, go off, beep, and when I apply brakes it pulls hard left with slight grind. I replaced all 4 brakes, and a frozen cal. Still happening. Hmm Dealers around here are all been known and reported as crooks.
Mine (2012 fusion) advanced light came on last week n would go off, then on my way home tonight I had a glowing left caliper. Gonna replace them both and pads n rotors. Did that help in your instance?
@@deancrothers5466 WOW, No, didn't help, I replace another cal in the rear. In my case, I'm starting to think its a voltage problem. The next good day, I will run a few voltage checks.
Why do they all tell there life history.
I have a 2012 F50 and sad to say, this is the LAST POS Ford, I will EVER own. "Service Advance Trac" light came on so I scheduled repair at the local dealership. 4 trips and $2200.00 later, it still comes on. (after backing out of parking stall, mostly) changed steering link, engine module, front end module and still, can't find the problem. Beginnging to realize, why others call a Ford (FIX R REPAIR DAILY)
