It is a shame how most African countries do not pay attention to infrastructures of the countries.
They keep building new homes without paving or tarring the roads.

@@billy3076 Not really. In affluent neighborhoods, those taxes maintain the community. In some parts of Africa, especially Nigeria, it seems like all the resources goes into the individual home...not the community, unless its a gated neighborhood. You'll have a beautiful home, with a barely drivable road leading to it.

Those slum areas are as well the rich men properties, just that development has not gotten to those places, all the small houses you saw there are illegal structures and that's why there's red marks on each of them, 200 poor people can't afford a plot of land in Abuja, any day the land owners decide to develop the occupants will be thrown out without notice. Nice job 👏👍

Unpopular opinion, but personally, I generally don't like architecture in Nigeria. The homes, even in rich neighborhoods, tend to be very gaudy, humongous, and over-the-top (I guess it fits the Nigerian personality, lol). Also, even in nice neighborhoods, I've noticed that the roads, and sometimes sidewalks tend to be somewhat messy (unless in a gated community). Are taxes issued the same way to maintain the community? I'm curious how that works. I've seen similar issues in Ghana, where there's a beautiful house, but the roads leading to it is horrible.
