When I met the right person I decided that I did not want to repeat past relationship mistakes and I began being transformed. I have been out of the game now for almost 13 years. I think that I am ready but I need to trust God’s timing.

I listened to the original version of this message series, and the one year challenge, as a senior in college after coming through a breakup that left me broken and numb and borderline suicidal. It took a lot longer than one year (nearly 8 in fact), but focusing on becoming the person that the person I’m looking for is looking for was the single best piece of advice I ever received. It completely changed how I approached life and my problems in it. And while the wait was longer than I had ever imagined, It was more than worth it, both for my amazing partner, and for the ability to look myself in the mirror and like the person I see.
