I've been meaning to use Mightyena for some time now but as soon as it was recently suggested I felt it was time to bring this Pokemon into the OU tier. Mightyena isn't the strongest Pokemon by any means, nor is it even all that good to begin with at a high level. However, all that changes now as I have found a use for it that makes it a respectable and formidable Pokemon, allowing you to win games a lot easier. With a Custap Berry as your item and Endure + Endeavor, you are able to essentially take on any threat in the tier, Endure so you always survive, and guarantee lower its HP to 1 with Endeavor thanks to the priority from Custap Berry. Not only that, but with priority Sucker Punch and Crunch along with Moxie you still do considerable damage to Pokemon. I paired this with Extreme Speed Dragonite which can pick off any weakened Pokemon from Mightyena's Endeavor. Then I added Choice Scarf Munkidori in case I don't want to go Dragonite to revenge and can just U-Turn out or attack. I figured a bunch of hazards would go well on this type of team so I put Deoxys-D with Stealth Rocks and Spikes. Then to keep all my hazards on the field I added Gholdengo to block Defog and Rapid Spin. Finally, the team needed hazard removal so I put AV Great Tusk for Rapid Spin support and more offense. :)

I have no comment on the Gouging Fire suspect test because I am not very good at competitive battles, I don't think I've done a single match in the new gen format haha. But Mightyena on the other hand! Like I mentioned before, my favourite Pokemon. Thank you so much for this delicious heat content

I tried to use Mightyena recently as a defensive set and It was painful. I never thought of making It a buffed classic rattata set lol
That was actually the first set I tried initially with Intimidate + Tera Poison + Poison Fang and it wasn't that great LOL

Might I suggest Whiscash for a feature? Very under appreciated mon with a bevy of fun tools like Endure, Dragon Dance, Belch, Spikes and Future Sight with a great typing. Recently had it sweep in a Draft League game with an Endure DD Petaya Berry set with Hydro Pump and Belch, and would love to see the Lord of heat recreate some of that goodness

Worked pretty well. STAB Suckerpunch is a threat, and the Custap Endure/Endeavor isn't widely used. Wouldn't work well at all in a tournament or something, but works well in random matches.
I'm glad the experienced youtuber confirmed my suspicion that 90 accuracy moves don't work

My favorite thing to do is use 1 trash mon and build around them. Although I prefer doubles, emvee’s been a huge inspiration for this playstyle
I remember when Mightyena came out I was really excited. It was a new dark type and it looked really cool. Was very disappointed when expectations did not meet reality. Cool to see it can at least pull off some fun gimmicks these days.

Hey Emvee, how much would it change the game if they added Health natures to the game? So you could have +Health Blissey, Snorlax, Iron Hands, Tusk, etc., or even -Health pokemon for Pain Split/leeching moves.
+Health Final Gambit would be untankable. Highly defensive, but low HP pokemon (like Toxapex) would get a big boost.
Do you think it would be a significant, or insignificant change?
i think health natures would be cool, kinda annoying for stall/fatter teams especially wish passers but interesting for offense teams. Often times for offensive mixed attackers you have to lower one of your defenses with naive/hasty or something but lowering HP instead would make a pokemon lose less bulk overall on one of their defensive stats

My main problem with Gouging Fire is the weird/lazy design. Walking Wake and Raging Bolt are so interesting and Gouging Fire is just Entei wearing a funny hat.

Sash doesn't work if you don't have full hp, endure does
@@loupi91940sorry, missed this sooner... but yes, i agree that custap endeavour works at less than full hp. however, it fails to get even a single ko unless it outspeeds, while (barring immunity)(also ignoring a switch as both strats mostly fail vs switching) while sash endeavour brings priority to get the ko and potentially break any incoming sashes after

OUGH says no. It's not too OP or meta breaking. Tusk can counter no problem. I've seen a cool loaded dice triple axle set that actually takes it out because of that 1 hit guaranteeing all 3 mechanic. We understand that defensive teras are not a viable response in one way or another, however, Tera Normal Espeed Dnite is a very common OU set and can handle it with ddance. Of course it's a massive threat and is extremely strong in OU, but I don't put it on the level of broken, although I could see it ban worthy if a a couple current staples of OU were not there.
