    Hi
    I was asked to look at this car, after 3 people tried and failed to get it running...
    On the ecu, B2796, for no communication on the immobilizer system...
    After a bit of investigation, and testing, and probably a bit of luck, I found the issue...
    Follow me on this video to find out what was the problem and how to resolve it.

    Automotive locksmith here. You should call up some smiths in your area and network We’re not finding a LOT of people that have non-Locksmith starting issues we can refer, and a Smith can help you get through some thing like this in minutes with the proper equipment, a im608 really only does some stuff and a zed bill is basically worthless garbage
    4c chips are Notorious for reading in the the programmer and not in the car. If ever you see a glass 4c then you KNOW range problems are guaranteed. And I can tell that the broken transponder is a cheap Chinese clone, note the bright copper windings in the one you harvested from the ford key, that’s a proper 4c

    You did an awsome troubleshooting approach. Maybe it might have been easier to not assume the key was working in first place. I will certainly follow that rule. Have the exact same problem with Son's Yaris.

    Key is, i believe, JMA brand. Big aftermarket brand like Silca and Keyline.
    The key reader coil on the car isn't that strong. The tools you used having a stronger coil because of the programming function, so it reads better.
    but nice video once again.

    Perfect diagnostic :) You may need to get one of handy baby 2 or key tool max (on xhorse UK they have had good deal for xhorse XP005 dolphin plus key tool max as gift) You doing the key's so why not invest in one. I would firstly clone or generate 4c chip with number with those machines and start the car, but again You show top class diagnostic lessons :) The best clue was take a look on transponder itself! And this could misleading everyone, the number is there.. (machines have more powerful coils..
    Also programming these remotes or keys is flapping the doors and keys in out, funny, top man

    It's a great fix Luis but you should have followed your gut feeling. However, nobody would have learned anything. Damaged transponders are NOT to be trusted. Had it on an old Mondeo . Exactly the same. I understand your way of thought and it is perfect content 👍👍but next time you see a damaged transponder you will tell your client that your first act of business is to write a new one. Regardless if it reads in the XP or the Z bull. Jut for your own peace of mind.

    It happened quite a few times that the chip broke because it is made of replacement glass. It is always better to use a carbon chip. It is possible with both a super chip and an original one.

    Hello, i've done my research lately and i opted to go with the im508 and the XP400pro package (will get gbox2 and imkpa later) -- the 508 and xp400 has exactly the same functions as the 608 and a third of the subscription... and it does not have capabilities close to the maxisys you have... Why did you not get the 508 as you have the MaxySys? I will get the MS909 too to complement it.

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs  Před rokem

      Hi
      There is minor but important differences between them...
      Yes, having the IM908P make the aquirance of the 608 a bit of an overkill...
      To be fair I am not sure, at the time I could afford it, and it made sense to get the more completed version...
      Boys toys I guess...😋
      👍👍👍

    • @ied3vil
      @ied3vil Před rokem +1

      @@LMAutoRepairs I know exactly what you are saying, i feel you bro :)) I went to a locksmith conference organized by my autel dealer and the sales rep of autel europe was there for Q&A and he said im508 paired with xp400pro is 1:1 with the 608... even basic diagnostics now, with a much much lower subscription... Does the im608 not do everything the IM908P does?

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs  Před rokem

      No... just because the 608 comes with the J2534... so allows you to program and do coding for example... the 508 doesn't...
      But of course if you have a tool that covers that, (like I have the MS908P), then those functions are just being duplicated on both tools...
      👍👍👍

    • @ied3vil
      @ied3vil Před rokem +1

      @@LMAutoRepairs Exactly my point... you should've gone with the 508 with the cheap 350$ subscription instead of paying yearly subs for coding and programming when you have the maxysis... not 100% sure if that is redundant now when you have the 608... I have decided i will be getting the MS909 since i'd prefere a separate oscilloscope for debugging...
