In my experience a surgeons knot adds more friction to string especially the cloth covered elastic and just makes it feel more secure (I'm not held liable for your beads popping)

Standard 9 mm pony beads, I get my beads from beadtin.com
Can u make into a keychain?
Sometimes the beads end up on top of each other when I don’t want them to do you know why that is??
Ensure that your string is pulled tightly and the beads will be forced into position
