that bronze mentality of splitting up to go push the cart 7 meters while the other half of your team gets killed
7 meters is a lot that's like 2 Reinhardts stacked on top of each other
Something that has been working for me when playing mauga is that I don’t need to lock people people in the cage with me, I can use the cage as symmetra shield and shoot freely at people with a barrier for myself
Or trap 2 or 3 people with you and let the rest of the team clean up 4v2 and then its a 4v2 again if you kill just 1 person in the shield. Even if you die its a win.

That's some good information about the over healing through Ana's nade
I feel like the best composition for this would be something like Mauga, Hanzo, Sojourn, Zen and Ana. Discord and Anti could just let them melt him, along with the ranged burst damage of most of the team, while Mauga could force him to turn a lot of attention to the tank or get melted. That or Sigma, since Grasp could mitigate a lot of damage along with increasing the ranged pressure.
I'd agree except I'd swap soj for mei for the slow/wall/ult/sustainablility. And personally I dont think mauga into a buffed mauga is smart. Hes just a better version of you and maugas hitbox is ginormous which makes it easier for the buffed mauga to burst you down & gain health. Plus maugas head hitbox is easy to hit which increases buffed maugas healing.
I like the sigma pick but my problem is your shield is going destroyed constantly. I think Dva's DM would be more beneficial.
Sigma has been a really good counter in my experience. Rotate between shield grasp and face tanking can let you survive a long time. Plus you deal very good poke.
Widow is really good vs mauga too. One good hs takes out almost half hp and it's not that hard to hit. Mei really good as well, snowball can almost counter cage fight.
Mauga just has a lot of sustain right now in his heals.
Just go dva. An anti + discorded mauga wont survive for 4 seconds with everybody shooting at him
Dva covers mauga and everyone blows him up.
@@Yorishiriamori anti doesn't really last long enough, plus the lamp or suzu will make anti negligible. The fights I've lost to dva are just my team dying before me. Dva can't touch mauga.

It's always been "Top 500" referring to the player, not a "Top 500 [insert hero here] main". SOMETIMES he gets people that main the character, like for Lucio, but that's never been the main point of the videos

i think to counter a solider ult is to use mauga ult when the soldier use his you put down mauga ult so there will be a big shield protecting your team and your team can shoot through the shield so they can kill the enemy team if the solider trys to go in then he's going to die
Wait with 2X the healing, would that mean that cardiac overdrive give him 140% lifesteal? If so, he would heal 14 points on regular hits and 28 on crit, on top of the 50% crit damage giving him overhealth (if overhealth gain wasn't buffed) then he's healing for a total of 62 HP every time he shots both miniguns on a burning target. That is insane healing for this.

To counter Mauga u need some kind of abilities that takes away his self healing (ie: dva, zarya, sig) sig poke is probably the best against Mauga and that’s hard meta rn.
Using the mauga ult defensivly has future like imagine to have a poke team and ult yourself if they don't come you poke them and if they come they die to mauga ult with your team but they need to coordinate

A way to understand how the overhealth works is to compare it to doomfist punch. Same interaction with antinade.
I think mauga is really cool. My only problem is how he is designed relative to other tank and characters in the game. Its how he interacts with other characters that I just feel like makes fighting him really miserable. I'm fine with losing. It's just about how I lose.

Its kinda scuffed to play mauga even at 2x the stats cause like with JQ, at 2x he is actually getting 4x on the healing. Double healing from the damage plus another 2x healing modifier.

A big reason I don't play comp is QP is simply faster to farm out weekly challenges for the exp rewards for games completed.
Why spend nearly double the time in a single match to get a plus one. When I can do a 8-12 minute game and do lose twice getting more progress on other challenges as well.
Sure I'd be compensated with match time exp but I don't think it edges out to get me more then simply running two QP matches back to back.
Qp will get those matches/wins faster if you need the completed games, true - but exp and stat wise it doesn't actually make a difference (at least in my experience, I started to play waaaaaaay more comp the last 2-3 seasons after always thinking it's faster in qp - never played much comp before) since you play 2 qp games in roughly 1 comp game. Getting eg.. 20kills, 7-15k dmg/healing in qp, while its around +40 kills and 15-30k dmg/heal per comp game. Exp wise I'm mostly at over 2k exp (up to 3k) per comp game without any challenges (it's maybe a liiiiiittle bit lower in exp than 2 quickplay games overall, I seldom had really long comp games). Also, if you're "lucky" and getting push maps in comp, those also won't last longer than one quickplay game - and I think you get a lot of those.
But the game will feel different tho. If you really want teamplay and coordination (also depending on rank), go for comp. If you want to learn a hero or just goof around making friends with enemies (or play in larger groups if you're GM or in too different ranks), better go quickplay. I like the "easy" game in quickplay. :)
And there's also open queue ranked. Those games mostly feel like quickplay too! I had a game were we played the game with 5 supports for the 2nd round. 😂
Oh! And what you also need to take into consideration: You'll get way faster games in qp, comp queue can take a while depending on rank (up to plat it's fast, higher than that you may need to wait a few minutes that'll also cost precious time).

Bronzies don't know what makes abilities synergize or counter each other. That knowledge comes secondhand from better players or from trial and error, so it takes time to filter the wisdom from people saying random knee jerk crap.

Something I'm proud of myself for figuring out that this top 500 player mentioned is that when the character first released I almost immediately picked up that if you're gonna shoot with Mauga at range, you do one gun at a time.
Set an enemy on fire with the incendiary chaingun, then focus them with the volatile chaingun. Unless you're so far away that half your bullets don't even hit the enemy, you will still do a huge amount of damage at long range.
Of course, you should absolutely just use both at close range, which *everyone* figured out. But I _still_ see enemy Mauga players using both guns at long range.

U didnt know the overheal works even with nade? Bruh its obvious, thats why shout is good against ana, and this fker gets it for free, they will nerf that or other areas like ammo and his regular life steal
So what’s everyone’s thoughts on how strong Mauga is. To me he feels like a very high skill character. But I think he is able to just run through lower skill lobbies. And I feel like they will end up needing him for that reason. His run ability is so satisfying to land directly on people and stun and hit crit damage. I love having to alternate between both weapons to output the most damage. It’s a very interesting mechanic. I feel like if anything I get his ult too frequently. We will have to see though he did just get released but I’m interested to see what people think about him.
I don’t think anything about him is high skill. Obviously if you run around brainlessly then you’re gonna do bad but that goes with anyone in the game. He’s easy to use, has no real movement to master, and his ult is straightforward. As long as your team comp is also decent (mainly your healers) then there’s no chance you can mess up.
