    Awesome, I run the Same boat out of the Rahway just up the kill. I run a 2021 70 Yamaha and get 37. Be interested to see what you get full throttle once you get there. We should hit the bay one day.

    My dad and I had a 17ft Boston Whaler (I don't remember the model name) with wood centre wheelhouse, bench seat, front decking and full canvas fold down weather gear, stainless bow and side rails and a 55hp Bearcat engine. Beautiful boat. I was 12 years old and some of the best times of my life were out on this boat. We completed a power squadron maritime course so we knew how to navigate on the water. Mostly on Long Island Sound to Block Island, blue fishing. I still miss that boat and those times...

      Thx for sharing that. Sounded like a cool boat. I’m looking fwd to teaching my daughter how to use this boat. She’s excited to learn. Good times ahead. Send a pic of that boat if you have ,love to see it!

      @@robbymacoutdoors.6250 that was way back in 1971/72. Wish I had some pictures. I looked it up, I think it was a Nauset. We were in plenty of rough seas but never felt in danger in that boat. Handled beautifully. Treasure the time with your daughter, it goes so quickly.

    You mentioned you had a Currituck model. I have 63’ Currituck. Richard Fisher did it right. Old school and still today going strong
    You did a really nice job. Enjoy the summahhh!,

    Nice job with your boat, I like everything except the way the cables were run to the motor. With water going into the bilge through the cables to a huge tripping hazard.

    Sounds like you did this project for all the right reasons. Now you’ll have to trailer it up and down the coast to different fisheries! 😉… Looking forward to the next video!
    Consider a set of side rails for rod holders?

    • @robbymacoutdoors.6250
      @robbymacoutdoors.6250  Před rokem +2

      Yes definitely Spinfish. It’s all about getting out and exploring different fisheries. Not sure what my plan will be for rod holders right now. 6/9 Marine matt comes to spec out the floor. Meantime it’s all about getting out there and enjoying it. Def more episodes coming.

    Funny, I’m in the process of downsizing boats due to my kids travel sports. Life stages are a shared experience with kids! My new boat I’m also thinking of a Suzuki 90 or 115. Do you still like the engine?

    • @robbymacoutdoors.6250
      @robbymacoutdoors.6250  Před 29 dny +1

      I love these engines. I have a 300 on my 24’ and the 90 has been awesome so far. I luck out having my service center for them one town over. Thats a big part of picking the right motor. I’m definitely a Suzuki guy 👍💪

    I have my new one 90 then just now doing break in.. Im happy with it..
    Then what size of proppler give perfect performance speed?

      @robbymacoutdoors.6250  Před 4 měsíci

      Prop size is 3x14” 19pitch. I’ve had it up to 42mph. Conditions were perfect that day. Just me on board. Best of luck with your new motor. I love mine. So smooth running.

    Pulled the 70 Johnson today now looking for new.

    What motor would you recommend sir?

      @robbymacoutdoors.6250  Před rokem +1

      Well as your can see I love the Suzukis. I’m so happy with my 90hp. I also run a 2020 300 on my bigger boat. They both run amazing! Zukes are priced better but can’t ever go wrong with the Yamahas as well. For me it’s a Zuke

    • @robbymacoutdoors.6250
      @robbymacoutdoors.6250  Před rokem

      @@jerimahjohnson8698 a 70 is a great hp option. That will move the boat well. I went with the 90 for when my wife and daughter come along . I also will be out on the boat filming episodes for my Chanel so I wanted a little extra hp for gear and my friend who comes along. It will fly pretty good with the 90 but the 70 will definitely do the job well for you. Can’t go wrong with either. Economical as well. My 90 sips the fuel. I can run it at 3300rpms at 25knts.
