  • I had to do it. Even WBT spades dont have the surface area contact patch that these VERASTARR custom spades do. Its to give honor to my favorite pure silver binding post !! MAXIMUM MIKEY !!

    Yeh that design make the spade to not be able to twist around the terminal.
    Usually I use that phenomenon that I at tightening by only my fingers I turn the knob/nut and the spade the last ~10°-20° of a turn. That will make it a tighter grip on the spade that if I only tightening the knob/nut by "finger force".
    Said that I see that the knob/nut in this example is bigger and it is easier to get a good hold on so that is not an issue. It is more a tip if you handle small knobs/nuts that is little bit harder to get a really good and tight lock down on.

      LOL< so you area little OCD too I see.. Tee hee hee... I do the exact thing to get that last snug fit on regular posts, but you area perceptive one the large knurled nut on the WBT with its rubber washer around the outside of the pressure face of the nut make it so you can crank the piss out of it and its very solid .... cheers !

      Thanks man, Its just one of those things that is fun to create into existence from a thought. All of us can do this and I suggest everyone try it in some area with some thing. Just to let yourself know you are a conscious creator. ;-)

    Are you not giving the electrons 2 different length paths (left and right vs middle) that would cause smearing of the signal?

    How much for a set (2 speakers)?

      4 pieces ? I dont know as I made them for fun not production. If we compared them to the WBT pure silver spades, I will guarantee you mine contain at the very least 5 times the silver content, and Im sure they could retail at half the cost of the WBT and Id be fine ... I'll do it if you guys will buy them.. probably would be somewhere around $30 each

    or you dont use nextgen crap, but a solid terminal so you have more surface area then this thing.....since bottom and top are touching....

    Spade, banana or bare wire? What's best in your experience?

    • @OCDHIFiGuy
      @OCDHIFiGuy  Před 4 lety +1

      Bare wire for sure. as theres one less "thing" inthe signal path, but the gain is small, and for convenience and keeping things tidy like wire strands, then spades are second as you are in control of the clamping force, bananas are a necessary thing for certain things mainly not enough room type situations and is the easiest thing to do with one hand for sure. so, there ya have it . !

    How do you keep your silver spade from tarnishing.?

    • @OCDHIFiGuy
      @OCDHIFiGuy  Před 4 lety +1

      I dont. I polish it after it tarnishes. what we call "oxidation" in electronics. Silver actually forms a sulfide and it is conductive and can give a certain sonic that some people love. Unlike Copper oxide which is non conductive and can cause big sonic losses.. Cheers !

    • @t00by00zer
      @t00by00zer Před 4 lety +1

      @@OCDHIFiGuy And you want to keep them shiny and oxide free, a yearly dip in the old Tarn-X and you restore the oxide back to metal.
