W140 the best S class ever made, with my experiance with mercs you take care of them like a dog or a horse they will be faithful to you all their life time, rest are all cars but a Mercedes is a true automobile. Not too complicated even for a DIY job simple yet relaible.

i'm proud to own one of these beautiful cars! it's amazing how well these cars handle, especially for their size! 17ft long and 2ton! it's as long as my dad's 97' F350 long bed crew cab. lmao.
Den W202 fahre ich auch, man kann ihn ja als "kleinen Bruder" bezeichnen. Das Desing passte einfach nicht in die frühen 90er, erst recht nicht durch den Mauerfall, das war das Problem. Dieses Auto hat aber technische Masstäbe gesetzt, das ist Fakt. Am Besten einen kaufen und die nächsten 10 Jahre einmotten, bevor sie alle im Export gelandet sind. Es sind und bleiben einfach faszienierende Fahrzeuge.

@ Lusth0g Der W140 ist neben dem 124er schlichweg DAS Synonym für Mercedes-Qualität. Damals war nix mit Chrysler-Fusion, die nur gekostet hat, das war Daimler-Benz und nichts anderes. Das nach fast 20 Jahren (1991) mal was kaputt geht ist klar, dennoch: Keine heutige S-Klasse bietet DEN Platz. Wobei man ja 2011 die ersten Modelle schon als Youngtimer zulassen könnte. Es ist für viele ein ungeliebter Klotz, ich man den dennoch, ebenfalls die schöne 126er S-Klasse.

Aus einem Stück gefeilt, nix mit Rost oder Elektronikproblemen. Ganz genau. Wem er nicht gefällt, der soll nicht hinsehen. Die Dickschiffe kosten ja nur noch Kleinwagenpreise und weniger, aber der Unterhalt ist recht teuer, leider.
