- I have been working on dust collection for years in my shop. One of the things that I have struggled with is this, the dust in the air, which is probably the worst for your lungs. I was sent this air purifier. One of the things I noticed while researching it is that the company makes commercial air cleaners of all types and this is probably one of their more economical units. Unlike some of the other companies that are tool manufacturers, and then they're just adding in an air purifier. This is a company that makes all types of air cleaners. I had said I was going to put an affiliate link here in the description, but I found that the machine was cheaper on their website. So I'm going to place a link straight to the manufacturers website where you can purchase the machine cheaper if you'd like. Put a link to the air monitor that I used this thing. was not very expensive, but it's really nice to be able to one chart how well your air quality is over a period of time and you can scroll back it. documents all of the past readings and then it will also send an alert to you once the air quality gets to a bad level. It says that this will also connect with Alexa so I am going to try to figure out some way of having it trigger a light or a buzzer so that if I'm in my shop and do not have the air filter on and the air quality drops to a dangerous level, it will let me know or just give me that reminder to turn the system on.

Awesome Review... Thanks a ton.. I have building a homemade dust collector on my to-build list. However we all know these types of builds tend to move down the list further and further as new things pop up, and all the time we breathe more and more damaging particles. Its funny how we are all trying to wear the proper PPE these days while working of our projects. For me, I have caught myself stripping out of my gear asap not even thinking that the air is still full of the nasty things. How do you know when its clear? I understand the monitors are one way but I do not have one of these. So I guess the best thing for me to do is order one of these and make my shop ever so clean, at least the air will be!

Are the Merv 10 and 1 micron filters common sizes or proprietary?
Do the mounting tabs you used line up for 16" center joists?

For some reason the WEN, Powertec, Shop Fox, and more all use the same size filters. The tabs are 12" one way and 18" the other.

They are great the only fault they have is the circuit board goes on them so I would love to know how you get on down the road with it
Is that an issue with this brand or for this style in general? Either way, I will put out an update if I have an issue.
@@ShopRamblings I think they all are built pretty much the same but mine is only 6 months old and I haven’t used it much only because I forget to turn it on but I noticed your control board is the same and when I called them he said it’s a common thing you’d think they sort it so instead of sending the whole thing back he sent the circuit board. It’s pretty much plug and play, but I’d like to know how yours gets on.
@bradleytuckwell4881 The diy one I built, I connected it to my lights. That way, it would come on when I turned the light on. I checked this one. If it loses power, it defaults off. The air monitor sends notifications when the air gets bad. Hopefully, that will remind me to turn it on.
